I'm not a big fan of Power and Light establishments (other than Johnny's) because they seem to be all style and no substance. Â The Dubliner is the perfect example. Â We stopped by after the Black Keys concert and wish we hadn't. Â Basically they opened the doors from the closed Raglan Road and didn't do ANYTHING!!! Â Actually I think the service at a CLOSED Raglan Road was better than an open Dubliner. Â They just waived the bottle of liquor over the plastic cup instead of pouring some in and still charge you $9. Â Bad service, high prices, crappy drinks are a guarantee that this place will be closed by the end of summer. Â The Dubliner is an insult to Irish people!
Review Source:Wow, what a crappy night at the Dubliner! Â Please avoid this place like a bad disease! Â The management of this bar is obviously anti-customer! Â We were watching the KU Game on the pretty sub-par big television. Â While the game was on, which had to be the only reason the vast majority of the people were in the bar, they had some lame band start warming up. Â To add injury to insult, Â one of their many moronic bouncers came up and told us they were TAKING our table and that we had to move. Â Why were they taking the table? Â Well the neanderthal bouncer informed me that they needed to make space for a dance floor. Â The game was only at halftime, it takes 2 minutes to move a table, but somehow dislodging paying customers during the middle of a big basket ball game was their first priority. Â With 8 of us sitting at the table, they insisted on moving the table! Â OMG what ever happened to customer service? Â Just because this lame bar had a crowd two weekends in a row, all of sudden they don't need paying customers! Â Â After arguing with the bouncer, who lied and told me he was the manager, they threw us out of the bar! Â However, prior to escorting us out, they made sure that we paid for the drinks that we didn't have time to drink because they were taking our table. Â Congratulations on being perhaps the dumbest bar people ever! Â The food that we had was mediocre at best, the drinks are not cheap, the televisions are not great, but none the less, the manager wins the prize for being the worst excuse for a manager ever! Â He couldn't have cared less that 8 paying customers left his bar due to their stupidity and ridiculously poor treatment. Â
FYI: Â You might think that perhaps we were drunk, etc. Â Simply not the case, I was the designated driver and had not had a drink all night! (everyone else was drinking, but not to excess) Â This was all caused by a meat-head bouncer who was more focused on a task than understanding who ultimately pays the bills and keeps a business open. Â Right before a game is going to start, drinks, purses, and food on the table, we were suppose to just pick everything up, simply so they could move the table an hour before the band was going to start, WTF?????
My prediction, Â Dubliner space will close down for the third time in five years. Â You can't treat people with such indifference and expect to stay in business! Â If it wasn't for the game, and the overflow from other bars, Dubliner would be doomed! Â
Congratulations for making my list of horrible places in Kansas City! Â
RIP Dubliner!
Terrible service. My husband and I went in with some friends to watch a basketball game and once we sat down a manager immediately came over and told us we had to leave at the end of the game that was currently on. He provided no reason except that he needed it. He was pretty rude about it. But we decided the current game wouldn't finish up for about 45 minutes. So we tried to flag down a waitress to order some food and drinks. When we finally got a waitress we gave her our order which she did not write down (she told us she memorized it) and never came back. We tried to give our order to another waitress who gave us the same run around. We were told to leave again for absolutely no reason given. When we got up another group of people sat down and they were not told to leave. We will never go back to The Dubliner again because of the treatment we received. It doesn't make sense to me why they would send away a party of 7 wanting to order both food and drinks.
