As V5 is in my neighborhood, I have been here several times.   I have not experienced what other reviewers have in their negative reviews. We have had outstanding service each time regardless of where we sat...at the bar or the various dining sections.  We have enjoyed the live music, poker nights and dancing.
I like the wings, the Reuben, the cheeseburger and the salads here.    There are many tvs even several booths with your own tv to watch whatever you want.

There has recently been a management change, so I am not sure how that will affect our experience here.   We were here earlier and had a great time!

If you have to teach your bartender how to prepare an Old Fashioned or a Manhattan, you're better off just ordering a whiskey neat.

Extra star for being open daily until 2 AM.

If I could give zero stars, I would. They charge extra for EVERYTHING- literally 2$ extra for cheese on your burger. Our food took forever to get to us, and when it did it was completely cold. The lettuce in my salad looked like it came out of a bag....kinda similar to a fast food salad. No exaggeration here, I'm not a super critical person- but this place just sucks. The only way you'll enjoy your meal here is if you're plastered drunk.

Compared to the other Velocity Five venues, I happen to think this is the best.  This location used to be a fairly, decent seafood restaurant, so I am not sure why it didn't last, but nonetheless, the loyal patrons still frequent this establishment.

It's the type of sports bar that a lady (like myself) would enjoy going to.  Not loud, not grimey, and somewhat sophisticated.

If you love wings, the best night to attend is on Tuesday.  Their wing special is amazing.  Plus, the wings are pretty decent.

I usually go when I have a Yelp Deal, so I can't complain about the prices overall.

In addition,V5 has a large private-ish area that is a hit with large parties.  And the management team has always been accommodating to local organizations; they are very easy to work with.

Went here with a friend of mine who lives just over and hour away.  Neither of us knew where to go so we went here.  We were catching up on stuff.  It was too late for their happy hour.  This place is a sports bar style establishment.  Didn't order any food as it was more of a social meeting.  They have flat panel TVs to watch in a few strategic places.

I did notice that there was plenty of space inside for groups.   If you go by yourself, you are welcome to sit up in the bar.  The service was just so so but it was an 'off' night far as hitting up a bar.

I went to the bathroom and they didn't have any papertowels.   I had to ask for some.   Not sure if you can consider that a negative....nah probably not. It happens.

I would go here again but maybe earlier to give the HH a try.

I see a lot of mediocre reviews on here, and I have to say, I DISAGREE! I have always been treated with utmost professionalism and respect and I truly enjoy every expereince I have there.

I find anyplace that sends a waitress out to block a parking space for the owner to be abhorrent.  Including the fact that the food is mediocre, the service is way mediocre and just wasn't a fun time.

I didn't have a meal, but I went for my friend's birthday party and had a great time. We drank and danced all night. The Dj was great and the bartenders were so friendly and helpful! Great atmosphere.

We had to send our calamari back 3 times before they we could eat. It was undercooked, soggy, and tasted like chewy flour. I ordered my steak med-well. My steak was sitting in a puddle of blood! They need to slow down and stop trying to get food out so fast. If they make it right the first time it was save them time from repeating orders to get them right. The only nice point of the night was the manager comped our whole meal.

Went in for lunch on a Friday.   There was hardly anyone there, and when we got to our table, it was dirty.  Our server cleaned the part of the table in front of us, and left the rest of the mess!  Needless to say, we didn't stay for lunch.  It would take a lot to get us back there.

Okay, an update. So the nice manager at V5 invited us back to try again. We finally did go back and ordered the exact same thing we had the last time. We were able to verify our thoughts from before.  Sorry but the food just is not worth the price.

We were seated in a backroom during a game. They have this big huge projection screen TV in there -- who knew those things were still made, right? Anyway at first we were treated to a log cutting competition and then a movie about a spelling bee. Finally about half way through the first quarter of the football game, someone on the staff figured out what channel the game was on and turned the station.  Hello, you are a SPORTS BAR? It was the home team... I know they stink but you could at least pretend that you know sports.  Anyway...

The waitress was scared to death that we were going to say something bad about her. She was actually quite good but was worried about us.

The manager came out and gave us a gift certificate because, as he thought, the food coming out of the kitchen was deadly slow due to a large party in the main dining room. Back to the waitress, she did explain what was going on and kept us updated. Anyway we were given this gift certificate (which expired on 12/31/11) to come back. Twice was enough for us to brave going into the restaurant and sitting down.

We ordered take out of a whole bunch of wings. The wings were big and generous but the Kentucky wings had some kind of "white sauce" that I won't even say what it looked like. They were nasty. I've never been known to turn down a wing before but yuck. The regular wings and the island wings were okay. The BBQ tasted burnt.

My advice would be to sit at the bar with the game you want to watch already on the set. Order a beer and some wings and leave the rest of the menu. The wings are $1 each so don't leave your cash at home.

Had a good experience here for lunch today, a Saturday.  Not many people, but that was okay.  Waitress was amenable and wanted to please.  I had the gumbo which was excellent, and the Firecracker burger which was pretty close.  Very spicy and not something you find everyday.  Plenty of TVs with sports which was good. Funny thing though, they were turned down because the juke box was playing, but there were no captions on the TV screens.  Weird, but no big deal.  There were a few other things on the menu I'd like to try so likely will be back.

I went during a football game.  The waitstaff were gathered around the TVs watching their games.  Our server was clearly confused by the wing specials which were listed on a large banner - a bucket of wings.  He didn't know how many came in a bucket, and didn't bother to find out...  We ordered anyway - smoked/grilled wings (YUM!).  BTW - a bucket is 10 wings.

It all worked out - we watched the game, wings were perfect, and the server appeared when our pitcher was low.

2 stars because I now have low expectations for an actual meal...

I hope we are an isolated case but our visit was a disaster.  Got the wrong food late. Taste was awful. Waitress disappeared for long periods.  Coffee was cold.   We won't be back, the Green Turtle is a better sports bar in the area.

This place was just not good. Going to Chilli's would have been better and cheaper. Velocity Five can be explained like this: Over priced food, frozen tasting meat, flies flying around my food, nothing that tastes really special...oh, and it charges extra for EVERY. SINGLE. LITTLE. THING. You want a side of BBQ sauce? That's and extra 50 cents. Extra side of ketchup? That's and extra 50 cents. Any substitutions? That's and extra 50 cents or more. It just gets kind of annoying. And that is Velocity Five: Just kind of annoying. Go to Chilli's, or the restaurant across the street, but save your money-- don't go to Velocity Five.

I took my boyfriend to Velocity 5 for a drink and appetizer for his birthday, and it was our first time since the demise of The Dock. We sat at a table near the bar, with dirty napkins and used lemons on it  As the waitress approached our table, she sat our drink napkins down without cleaning the table.  I asked her nicely if she would wipe the table down first.  She did, and left it wet - but, placed two drink napkins down on top of it anyway.

We ordered drinks and his martini was excellent, however my Pinot Grigio was lukewarm. We ordered calamari, which took quite a while to arrive, and when it did - it was not warm. Before leaving, I used the ladies room - which was filthy. A server had spilled something on the floor right outside the restrooms and as the liquid lay on the floor, someone threw a towel on it, and left it. We were disappointed and won't be back.

It is a nice sports bar. The food is ok. Some dishes are better than others. The last time I ordered Jambalaya that was recommended by a waitress. But it had  chicken in it that wasn't fresh. Manager came back and confirmed it was bad after tasting it. He appologized for this. He also basically put our meals on the house. I didn't expect it but it definitely impressed me. I am a huge proponent of businesses who take responsibility for their mistakes and strive for a better service. This place is one of them. That's why I think they win.
Oh yeah it is also a great dancing place in the area for those who llikes to go out in the evening. We went there for a girls-night-out evening and had a very good time.

A group of three of us recently ate here after work. We were told it was happy hour and all drafts were half price. The personal TV in our booth was a nice touch. The appetizer nachos were so-so. Nothing to write home about, but certainly not bad. The Greek salad was super salty! Blechh! The burgers we ordered were quite good though; however, their "spicy" burger wasn't very spicy, and came Medium, when I ordered it Medium-Rare. Our service was very good, but they attempted to overcharge us on our beers. The service was good, but we had to remind the waiter of their happy hour specials to which he obliged and changed our bill, but he informed us that the happy hour only applied if we were eating in the bar part of the restaurant. I'd go there again, but it certainly won't be a place I eat at regularly.

My son and I just came back from dinner. Nice varied menu. We both had burgers which were very good. I was able to substitute a salad for the fries for an additional dollar. We liked the personal TV in our booth and the ability to change channels to watch whatever sporting event we wanted. The only thing that would have made it better for me was if they served Diet Coke. The service was friendly and quick. It is worth checking out.

My wife and I just ate at Velocity Five for dinner tonight, we both loved it. We started out with the wing sampler we had the Buffalo Bill sauce, spicy honey, and the island wings. The Buffalo Bill sauce is a habanero based sauce and is fairly spicy, but tasty, my wife was able to eat it, so it wasn't stupid hot. The Honey wings were moderately spicy and good, the Island wings were very tasty and had tons of fresh herbs and spices.

For dinner, we shared the ribeye, the gravy that comes with it is out of this world, if you get the mashed potatoes, (I got rice instead) ask for extra gravy you will thank me later for how good it is.
