I live in the neighborhood and have been to V5 many times.  Its fun to sit outside when the weather is nice and an ok place to gather with friends for a drink.  But over the years the food has gotten worse and worse.  The wings are good, but the other appetizers all taste like they came from a box of frozen food.  You used to be able to get a great burger there.  Went there tonight and I wanted a burger and found it was a prefab frozen patty.  Little to no taste and so dry.  They used to be so juicy and had wonderful char grilled flavor.  No more. Its so disappointing.  It doesn't take much to make a good burger but this one was awful.  You can tell people don't go there for the food as almost all the patrons were either sitting or standing at the bar or having apps and drinks on the patio.  I wish I had gone somewhere else to be honest.

The staff is pretty attentive to your needs, only one time when I went in there and asked what they had on tap and the waitress looked at me and said really, then sighed and tried to remember what they had which she couldn't.

The food was pretty good, so far none of my orders have been messed up.

As sports bars go, this is okay.  Lots of TV for any sports event that you will not miss any highlights from any seat.  Dinning area away from the bar was nice but it will not be quite if you are looking for a quite sit down dinner during a game or other event.

How about adding a latch to the men's room bathroom's stall.  No privacy.  Soap container off the wall and inoperable.  It's flu season, morons.  Severely disappointed.  Pay attention to your facilities!

Surprisingly decent. Burger is a frozen patty... Avoid if possible. I give it 3 stars because the wings were pretty delicious and they have around 10 different flavors!

This place is kid-friendly and does have live music on the weekends. It would be nice if they could have decent salads or lunch food.

Very good Sports Bar with good service and great Burgers. Their ongoing special with 1/2 price Burgers on Monday is worth going for and adds to the Monday Night Football fun here!

There should be a separate rating system for sports bars.  As sports bars go, this is okay.  It doesn't have that smoke sheen, probably because the shopping center complex isn't that old.   Bunch of older (retired or unemployed) men sitting at the bar, making drunken comments at my co-workers at 4 PM on a weekday.  Fun stuff.

Bud Light on tap was stale according to a co-worker - they gladly gave her another beer of her choice.  Happy hour specials look good ($7 cheese pizzas on the day we went - Thursday).  Good juke box.

They need Buzztime to get me to come back.  Nothing really stood out about this place.   Basic sports bar.  End of story.

My husband and I have been here a few times. Food has consistently been good as well as the service. Large patio area and outdoor bar, excellent for nice evenings. I highly recommend!

V5 Sterling is a GREAT neighborhood bar, and the patio area really sets it apart from other local spots.  There are lots of local regulars from all ages.  The entertainment is usually good and the food is very well done with lots of options for a place of its size.  The staff is so fun, friendly and pleasant and the manager Pete is a personable guy who is always making sure everyone is having a good time.

i know i live within ear shot of this place and it is in a conservative strip mall in the middle of rich suburbia but please give me a reason to frequent this place as a fun hang out. why do i have drive out to velocity's other location in falls church for all the fun themed nights? this place has potential just need some promoting.  i might go here for an occasional CAPS game.

So let me explain my rating. The wife and I went for their proclaimed amazing sunday brunch so we went to try it. It sucked. The food was very oily/greasy and lacked taste. Terrrible place for brunch and my recommendation is that you should never go for that particular reason. HOWEVER, if you go to watch sports, and drink at the bar or listen to live music. this is a fun place in a nice neighborhood where it makes you feel welcome. And with the outdoor seating, it gives it something extra.

My co-workers and I went here for lunch. We had a coupon for buy-one-get-one-free coupon. The burger was fine and the fries were good. They were not super skinny or wedge fries. It was nothing special but it was good. The service we had was excellent.

We noticed that it seemed very dark inside. The high dark walls makes the bar look really creepy in the middle of the day.  All in all I could see this being a nice hang out pub but it's nothing special.

My husband and I came here for dinner because we had a buy-one-get-one-free coupon. We looked at the menu before going, and they had everything we wanted. We really expected this to be a good dinner, but we were sadly disappointed.
We walked in the door and waited... no one helped us, so we grabbed  a seat and sat down. A server brought us menus. He did not tell us of any specials or happy hour prices. When we asked, he said "all drinks are on special."
I really wanted wings, and so we got an order of 10 wings for an appetizer. 10 wings for $10! Ouch. We ordered the Buffalo Bills Spicy flavor, but they were barely spicy at all. They were not crispy, the skin was almost rubbery. Yuck. They were very large wings, but who cares how big they are if they aren't good!
They do not have a great beer selection for being a sports bar. I got a Yuengling and my husband got a Sam Adams. I didn't even think my beer tasted that great. Oh, and they didn't even bring us any water the whole time!
OK, now time for dinner. I ordered a full slab of ribs and my husband ordered a chicken, shrimp and sausage pasta that sounded delicious. First, I have to say that I LOVE ribs. when I got my ribs, however, I was terribly disappointed again. First: the menu says, "sauces brought to the table: and lists 4-6 suaces"... they did no such thing. My ribs had some sauce slathered on it. Now the ribs... they were tough and fatty. I pulled my way through 3 of them and took the rest home for the dogs. My husband's pasta was ok, but he said that the chicken tasted like those frozen chicken strips you get at the grocery store, not like freshly cooked chicken that you'd expect to get in a restaurant.
Luckily, we had no problem using our Entertainment book coupon, but it's too bad that we won't ever return.

This is an average place to eat.  Atmosphere is a little dark and depressing.  Although the servers are attentive, they lack personality which really makes for a great experience.  It can get very crouded at the bar which spills into the dining room making hard to have a private occasion.  Food is very good and always consistent.  They just need some more personality to make this average restaurant become a great restaurant

    2.5 stars.

I like to come here because it's close to home, they have live bands on Saturdays, there's outdoor seating, and it can be a fun bar for hanging out with friends..

However, the food seems to be way overpriced and most meals I've had weren't that great.  The buffalo chicken quesadilla is awesome, the nachos are pretty good, and the tequila beef pasta is good (but expensive).  But everything else I've tried has either been just okay or not that great.. and again, overpriced.

The service is okay.. We usually have good servers, but there have been times we didn't.  My main complaint is that almost every time I've come to V5 for dinner, there is no host/hostess at the host stand.  I end up standing around for about 5 minutes, then have to look for someone to seat me.

Overall, I'd say this place is best for watching sports games, going out with friends for drinks, listening to the live music or the DJ on weekends, and enjoying the buffalo chicken quesadilla or another appetizer. :)

At my first visit since it changed names, I though I'd have the pork BBQ sliders and onion rings.  They were both really bad!  I had no clue what the sauces they served with the 5 (yep 5) onion rings, but they both were horrible.  They'd also put the rings on lettuce and sprinkled cheese on them.  Not sure why that was done, but it didn't help.  Hubby had a bacon cheeseburger there once and the bite I had was excellent,  Guess I should have gotten one of those instead.

Good place to go and watch a game with friends.  Food is always hit or miss, mostly miss.

We were pleasantly surprised to see that you could smoke outside on their well tented/umbrelled patio and still be able to watch sports.  Nice.

We were also pleased with the great service - and to find that our very favorite waitress of all time, Jessica, made the transition when they changed over from FoxChase Pub! YAYJessica - her professionalism, kindness, happy smile never fail to make our dining out experience better.

The food?  Basic pub fare from what I can tell.  We had coconut shrimp [disgustingly sweet before dipping in the nice sauce], wings - passable and spinach artichoke dip.  We ordered this with just plain bread instead of chips - because I can't eat chips, but unfortunately the kitchen decided to rev' it up and sent toasted cheese bread.  Not what we wanted, but I guess they tried.  It makes me think a large amount of the menu is based on the frozen Sysco type food so prevelant in pubs/restaurants these days.

Except for the pedestrian food the service is impeccable and it is a very clean restaurant [as opposed to it's predecessor which was always gross] which is a nice change.

They do have a DJ at times [way too loud! As we live over a mile from them and can hear it at times in our neighborhood - I can't imagine what it would be like to be actually there] And when they have bands be prepared to be packed in tight - the band will take up a lot of one side of the restaurant, customers will take up the rest and the dance floor is almost non existent.

It is nice that it is within walking distance to our home. :)

This is a cool place to get a drink and watch a game but so far I've had bad experiences with the food.  I've tried the wings, the Speros Blue Burger and the French Dip, and the kids have had the sliders. The burger comes with chives or something mixed in the meat which doesn't taste good and kind of ruins the burger, at least for me. The kids hated it too. The French Dip came with au jus that was red, sorta thick and tasted like vegatable soup broth.  And the "prime rib" it was supposedly made with was terrible. The wings were undercooked and the sauce was just "ok" at best.

Great free appetizer bar on the grand opening nite.
wings were combination for hot and teriyaki sauce, chicken nuggets with cheese inside was very tastee, also they had a bite size appt that was filled with macaroni and cheese which I think kids will love.

Nice sport bar with lots of TV for any sports event that you will not miss any highlights from any seat.  Dinning area away from the bar was nice but it will not be quite if you are looking for a quite sit down dinner during a game or anything that is happening at the bar.

Good selection for beers on tap, from Miller high light, Samuel Adams, to Guinness with full bar for any mix drinks.  Look of it, they are trying to promote mix drinks along with being a sport bar look.

They had the opening party tonight and man, they threw a par-tay!  Free appetizer buffet and drink specials.  The price for drink specials was totally nominal, cos the bartenders kept saying, 'I got it!'.  The DJ was spinning top 40 and the waitress and bartenders were dancing to it.  I only wish the bar will be like this after today.

The venue is a typical sports bar with a separate dining area.  LOTS of TVs.  And let me emphasize that it's NON-SMOKING inside.  They do have an outdoor patio area with a bar (great for summer evenings) where you can smoke.
