This is a nice little surprise in Covington! It's small but doesn't seem to get crowded, and the space is nice, airy, and modern. The menu isn't huge, but everything seemed fresh and tasty. I loved my sandwich and thought it was the perfect amount for lunch. However, when I asked my husband about it, his take was that the portion seemed small to him, though he couldn't remember what he ordered. So take that for what you will. In any case, good place for an occasional lunch off the beaten path. The food does seem to take its time though, so plan accordingly.
Review Source:I promised myself I wouldn't use the phrase "hidden gem" in a Yelp review anymore unless I really, really, really ... really meant it.
And so, I found this hidden gem, tucked away in Covington, And you need to go there.
Honestly, this place opened with no fanfare whatsoever. I wouldn't have even heard of it except that everyone who works around the area in Covington loves it (and the Yelp reviews were insane.) Located in the nowhere part of the city on 14th street (right next to Club Venus), you'd never know this place existed unless you searched it out.
You should go seek it out right now.
It's a tiny one room cafe with less than 10 tables that's open for lunch only. There is a chalkboard menu only and you order at the counter - but oh what a menu: Delicious homemade salads, soups so good they ran out before we could try it, and sandwiches that will blow your mind. I got the  Grilled White Cheddar, which had green apples, apple butter and  white cheddar on  cinnamon raisin bread from Shadeau Bakery. What? Yes! I also tried some of the hummus and veggie sandwich that my friend got and it was equally as delicious.
The sandwhiches come as a nice platter with salad and chips and makes for a delicious lunch, and for all under $7! Damn.
The decorations are wonderfully weird. It's mostly blank walls except a group of framed images in the corner, which has everything from painted pictures of little girls, horses, prints of skulls, wolfs with Shakespeare quotes (where the name come from) and more. Very strange, very fun.
I feel secure in my use of the "hidden gem" phrase. Go forth and seek it out.
Insanely happy that Wolf & Co. are located a mere block from my office. Â Beautiful redo to what was once the Redlight Cafe, complete with a fresh menu and a warm, welcoming staff and owner. Â The space looks amazing--in fact, I can't believe that it IS the same space. Â Really lovely with potted herbs on the table and natural light flooding the room--even on this grey day, it was bright and airy. Â There is a long window seat where you can rest while waiting for your carry out order. Â
When I'm trying a new place with a concise menu, I like to start at the top and work my way down, that way I can comprehensively try "it all" (next up on the menu, Chicken Salad). Â Wolf & Co.'s menu offers updated additions to familiar and loved sandwiches (the grilled cheddar has an addition of apple and apple butter--yum!), and there are vegetarian choices, too, and not just a "veggie sandwich". Â Today I ordered the ham and smoked Gouda with green apple, field greens and dijon on cinnamon raisin Ezekial bread. Â It was served with a lovely undressed field green salad with their house vinaigrette on the side, and some crunchy chips in the center. Â I proudly belong to the clean plate club!
I'm always happy to support local business, especially when I'm the beneficiary of a wonderful, healthy lunch!
I popped into Wolf & Co. with a friend for lunch today and was delighted with their menu! The food was reasonably priced, healthy, fresh, and tasty. It's a cute little space (great for eating in or take out) with friendly staff and lots of vegetarian options. Â They serve soups, salads and delicious sandwiches. I ordered the Caprese Sandwich which included chips and a small salad, all for under $7.00. We will definitely be eating here again! So happy to have a new healthy lunch choice in Covington.
Review Source:I've been waiting for the sweet little place to open and was thrilled to stop in for lunch today! Among several good vegetarian options, I tried the Grilled White Cheddar Sandwich - green apples, apple butter and sharp white cheddar on Shadeau Bakery cinnamon raisin bread. The perfectly grilled sandwich came with a small salad and crispy potato chips. And now I have a problem: this was so delicious I don't know if I'll ever be able to order anything else there! My friend had the capreses sandwich - it was huge and judging from the speed it left her plate I think it was pretty good, too. Folks across the cafe, sitting in their own bar height stools at a table adorned with fresh herbs as decor (so sweet) had gorgeous chicken caesar salads sitting in front of them that looked tempting.
The menu is small, but strong and the staff was very friendly with quick service and great prices. $6.49 for my plate of yum today. Hours are limited: just 10:30 - 2:00 Monday through Saturday to cater to the Covington lunch crowd. Â Look carefully on 5th street between Madison and Scott or you might miss this little gem.
