I really can't comprehend what some of the other reviews are saying about the food. I've eaten at the Fours a plethora of times and the food is always great. Best things on the menu are the Buffalo chicken nachos and the Johnny Kelly sandwich. The menu has something for everyone's taste. Beers are a little expensive but that's par for the course. The TV's are great, however I'd rather come here for lunch or dinner with no game, than be packed in at the bar.
Review Source:Watched Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals here on my 21st birthday. The B's lost in OT, but I still had a good time in a crowd of black and yellow dressed fans outside the TD Garden, sipping a quality local draft beer and watching the action on the many big screen televisions. Didn't get a place to sit, but it was fine to stand and chat with the other standers, not to mention its awesome to have a bar surrounded by Boston sports memorabilia. A good atmosphere to watch a game when the Garden itself is sold out.
Review Source:This was a random pick before going to see Bruno Mars at the Garden and boy did we luck out. When my boyfriend saw the special of Lobster roll + clam chowder, we decided to go in. The waitress asked if we were going to the show so she sped up our dinner.
I had to verify with my boyfriend a couple of times, but he did call the lobster roll one of the best, if not the best he's had so far. Fresh lobster, very good roll and not too much mayo. He was still craving it the next day!
I had the frenchie burger with fried onions, brie cheese - cooked to perfection. Clam chowder I stole from my boyfriend's dinner was oh so delish. Sweet potatoe fries and pasta salad were all perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better dinner and we didn't even yelp the place before stepping in. We were in luck!
Were here for some drinks last night while watching the Bruins in the Stanley Cup.
It goes without saying that this place was packed. Â It is the quintessential sports bar in Boston. Â They have an amazing collection of sports memorabilia throughout the place. Â
Besides being very hard to navigate throughout the bar, one of the bartenders was rude (probably because he was overwhelmed, and couldn't keep up). Â But the drinks were cold, and the prices right. Â Plenty of TVs to watch the game.
I'm sure if you came in here earlier on in the day, or on a day when there wasn't a game, it would be a much more enjoyable experience, and would deserve more than 3 stars. Â Definitely a must-visit if you want to go to a classic Boston sports restaurant.
My "go-to" place when I go to an event at the "Gaahden" is, Northstar. Â However, there are certain times when we like to try something different. Â I have been to the Fours a dozen or so times and never had an issue. Â Then again, typically, we sit downstairs at the bar and drink/eat and get out. Â A large group of us (about 10-12) went to the Fours after a B's game one night to finish the night. Â We were at the bar upstairs and the bartender was utterly OBNOXIOUS! Â The coat check/doorman/bouncer type dude, was just as obnoxious. Â It happened to be one of the first games Jagr played so we asked the bartender for some Jager Bombs. Â Well.. we were told "it was family restaurant" and "we don't serve shots" .. clearly this fella wasn't looking to make any money off of our several hundred dollar tab so he decided to be consistent with his crapy attitude and crude comments for the remainder of our time spent there. Â The bartender also decided to throw out one of our perfectly fresh drinks by saying it was "watered down" ... so he clearly makes awful drinks since it was a drink he JUST made!
Needless to say, we left to go to a bar where our money was appreciated and our orders would be filled... so we went to Sully's. Â When you pick Sully's over any other place you know there has to be a good reason.
If I could rate in the negative... this place would be negative 5 stars.
In a nutshell... you want a semi-"fancy" type reasonably priced dinner in town.. go to the Fours. Â If you want to have fun, watch the game and have a good time with good drinks... skip the Fours. Â Go to the Northstar.
Could possibly be the WORST food I've ever had from a Boston restaurant.
Me and my friend came here for lunch yesterday afternoon after completing the Boston AIDS walk and we were starving, which was the only reason I ate some of the food we ordered.
For an appetizer we ordered the chicken quesadilla. They didn't even look appetizing but I gave it a shot. The onions were mushy, the chicken had a rubbery/spongy consistency, the sour cream was thin and tasted spoiled, the tomatoes they put in it made them so watery you had no choice but to eat it with a fork and knife, the overall taste was quite off putting.
For my meal I ordered the chicken broccoli & ziti in a garlic wine sauce. The chicken had the same consistency as the rubbery/spongy chicken in the quesadilla, all the pieces were shaped the same making me believe is was frozen chicken. All the pieces had chewy veins going through them so I ended up just eating the broccoli. The pasta was overcooked and the garlic wine sauce left such a horrible taste in my mouth I burped a couple hours later and almost threw up.
My friend ordered a cheese burger with onion rings. It was cooked how she asked (medium well) but was on the dry side and lacked flavor. The only saving grace of our entire meal were the onion rings which had a crisp, light batter on them.
We sat outside and at the end of our meal (just to add injury to insult) one of the patio umbrellas fell over and hit my friend in the back. There was no sunlight in the patio area, and it was quite windy so I'm not sure why the umbrellas were out in the first place.
Our waitress was friendly and refilled our drinks without us having to ask.
Lessoned learned to stay away from this place, it will obviously continue to do alot of business being across the street from The Garden, but if you are in the area and want to eat good food DO NOT waste your time or money here.
We came here with a pretty large group looking for a cool (temperature wise) place to watch the bruins game on the first super hot day of the summer. I gave this two stars because the host did manage to find us a table that was almost big enough for the 10 of us, and someone brought us an additional two top so we could all sit.
We are pretty big drinkers, and all looking to drink and snack through the hockey game. However, we were all very shocked at how rudely we were greeted by our waitress. Having worked in the food service industry as a bar waitress, I completely understand her displeasure in the fact that we were not all planning on eating full dinner. However she informed us in a completely unnecessary tone that we would have to vacate our table and she would definitely be taking back the two top table that had just been brought to us for eating customers.
ok really? we already had a round of drinks and we ended up with 12 people, all of whom had every intention of drinking heavily. Instead, I resentfully ordered an appetizer, the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls, which I found to be disappointing and very lackluster bar food, perfect for a hockey game after a day spent galavanting around Boston. Had I not been treated I'm a manner that was inappropriate for even speaking to an animal, I probably would have snacked and drank my way through the game. instead, it ruined my experience and my boyfriend and I left. Im hoping our party didnt tip this women....and I'm a habitual greater than 20% tipper. I also don't do yelp reviews. I recently had a guy ruin my hair color and give me the worst 4 hour dye job of my life, and I didn't even trash him, because I felt bad for him...because he was nice enough......
....this gets better! The bar area around the bar seating is pretty small, so as we were leaving, we were saying bye to some friends and our waitress (chin length dirty blonde hair, unsure of age because she looks about 50 and weathered from years of tanning and probably smoking-just the way she looks, I didn't catch her name) was coming through with a tray of drinks. I didn't see her and as my boyfriend was getting ready to move me out of the way, INSTEAD of saying "hey I'm coming through", this women yelled "EXCUSE ME" but not in the polite way, in the rude sarcastic way, and took her index finger and poked me so hard that it hurt.
I understand having a bad day, but when you work in a service industry you don't get to take it out on people. We were planning on drinking and paying and tipping graciously. What if we were eating and not drinking??? She really threatened to take back the table we had just been given. Again, I know she was seeing money fall through her fingers with us not eating, but that's part of being a waitress in a bar, you're not always going to make $400 sales, but she could have probably made $200-$300 from booze and apps, and I mean who's to say we weren't going to get into shots! The Bruins won!
I have never been treated this poorly in a restaurant. I'm not a complainer, I actually have a yelp account so I could positively review a few places I frequented back in Baltimore. I just cannot get over how angry and unpleasant this woman was. I will not go back here at least for quite a long time.
Knowing the location of The Fours, my friend and I decided that we'd go here to watch the Bruins game. We got there about an hour before the game started - so the place was packed. But we knew we'd have a better chance at getting a seat at the bar once people filtered out to go to the game at the garden. We actually made friends with some folks at the bar and got seats immediately. There are TV's everywhere so you can't miss a game.
The bar was packed but the bartender didn't miss a beat. He was probably one of the best bartenders I've seen under these circumstances. We wound up staying there for the entire game and had a really good time.
I've been to The Fours before, but I don't recall the food being as good as it was yesterday. I mean it was good, but I think I forgot how good baked beans are! Â I had the Doug Floutie sandwich which made my day.
Great place and rowdy atmosphere for high energy games. Hard to get a table during those games, but when you do it's totally worth it. Really affordable - we had 4 rounds of drinks each and 2 meals and it was still under $70.
There is only one stall in the ladies bathroom on the first floor, so during these busy times I'd recommend heading to the second floor where there is a bigger bathroom.
I'll be back to watch the rest of the Bruins post-season for sure!
For our anniversary we decided to come here before the rihanna concert. Â I was worried because they were so busy and had to give a name that they would take forever to serve our food! Nope! Not the case! Server came right over and I ordered the lobster with clam chowder and french fries because.they were one of the specials that day....omg, I loved everything on my plate so much I didn't leave a crumb behind! I'm very fussy with my fries too but they were the right kind of crispy. I cannot wait to go back for it! The only con was they don't have the beer pitcher specials like hurricane o'rellys.
Review Source:The Four's was ok. The salmon I had was burned. The wait staff was not very attentive. It took forever to get our waitress's attention. She checked in on other tables, but it took her a while to come back to my table. The beer selection was sub-par. I do not think I will return here again.
Review Source:We were in Boston for PAX East 2013. The last day was Sunday and we were so exhausted by the end of the weekend, we just wanted to go somewhere close to North Station since our hotel was nearby. I noticed a few restaurants on this block but we settled on this place. So glad we did!
The host and our waitress were so friendly; we felt very welcome. We ordered the buffalo chicken nachos which were AH-MAZING. It wasn't your typical pile of chips topped with all the cheese- the cheese was present throughout the pile. That's how nachos should be IMO!
Then we each got the Bobby Orr. My two companions loved it, but I thought it was just okay. My meat seemed to be seared way more than theirs, so all I could taste was char. The whole sandwich to me was just dry and chewy. Meh. But again, they loved theirs so maybe I'm just weird or I had a bad one!
Overall, I'd recommend giving this place a try.
I'm not from the Boston area, but I wish I was just so I could come to The Four's more often. I loved this place, because this is exactly what I would want my basement to be if I was a multi-billionaire. It screams "I'm a huge sports fan and I'm a man...a manly man at that!"
Beer. Food. TV's. Typical stuff. I wasn't blown away by any of that because you can find that anywhere, especially in Boston. It was just the entire atmosphere of this sports bar. It was classy, but casual. It brought me everything I would need from any seat (I sat in two different ones) throughout out the night.
Since I was going out to party later in the night, I wasn't trying to fill my stomach with stupid carbs that would make me drink more to get to the point of drunkeness I was trying to reach. Anyway, I only had half of a wrap, but it was good. What was it? I can't even remember. The majority of the people I came with ordered the Doug Flutie ($11), which they all loved. If I was to come back, that is what I'd order.
So. If The Four's are ever planning on jumping into home, man-cave design, I will be the first one to sign up. I will definitely be back whenever I'm in the Boston area.
THIS PLACE IS SO AWESOME! The guy that greats you at the door was SO kind. We were seated right away, the whole vibe of the place was beyond awesome! Kind of dark, wicked cool sports stuff everywhere. We ordered and we had our food VERY fast. I got the chopped salad which was SOOOO GOOD. My family all got burgers, and I stole some fries from them and they were incredible. Big portions, prices are a little high but very good for such a nice place in Boston. Our server was really good, he came to see if we needed drink refills ( which you would be surprised how many places don't do that) Next time I am back home I for sure want to go back, I think I will try the Quincy location next since that's were my some of my  family lives.
Review Source:You're in Boston for the weekend, it's February, you party and shop til you're ready to drop, and it's SuperBowl Sunday while your're staying on Friend St. Where do you go to watch the game?? Â The Fours is your best likely option.
There are two floors with plenty of seating. Big LCD TVs all around so you'll see the game from where ever you're sitting. The volume was a bit too loud though, as it distorted the announcers and all important Superbowl commercials. The booths have walls between for added privacy. The seating was clean and comfortable.
The food was good, though nothing to write home about. We had the Chilli (a cup is plenty for one person). The tortilla chips that come with it are fresh made and crispy. We shared a platter with potato skins, wings and steak & cheese egg rolls. Each were okay. Wings were well enough done. Potatoes could have cooked a bit longer, egg rolls were tasty and crispy. The sauces were well pared.
We expected a bit more energy on such a "super" occasion, but the place well pretty subdued.
Bathrooms, though small, were clean and had the Excelerator hand dryers.
The service was pleasant and attentive.
I came here for the first time last night before the Celtics game for dinner with my boyfriend. My experience with sports bars in Boston leans heavily towards the Fenway scene but I knew to get there on the early side before the crowds filled in. The game was at 7:30 and I got there a little after 5 to put my name on the list. The host said that at the time, we could have been seated right away, but I'd have to wait because my boyfriend was still on his way from work. Not a problem for me, I got a beer at the bar and hung out until my boyfriend was close by. At that point I told the host my boyfriend was walking over, and we were seated 5-10 min after my boyfriend got there. There were just 2 tables ahead of us but apparently at the door they were telling people that there was a 45 min wait... It was maybe 5:30 at that point. I get how not seating until the entire party is there can be annoying, but in our case, it worked out fine. It should be noted that this was a Wednesday evening and I wouldn't be surprised if it was even busier for a weekend game.
Once we were seated upstairs, where it's noticeably quieter than downstairs, we sat down and ordered our food. My boyfriend got a build-your-own burger with onions and a few other toppings with sweet potato fries which he seemed to enjoy just fine. I got the mac and cheese without any toppings and it was amaaaaazing. My bf had his fair share off of my plate and we ate every last bite. It was creamy and baked perfectly. Not too fancy, but I generally don't go for fancy dishes to start with. Just a solid, great dish. We had a couple beers with our dinner and the service from our waitress was efficient and great. We were out the door around 6:45 and walked right over for the game.
It's a little far from where I live in Brighton, so I can't say I would travel across town just to dine at The Fours, but I would absolutely come back if I was in the area for a game / date / whatever.
This is my least favorite Fours location. The last time that I came here with Kelly M. and a mutual friend the service was poor, the food was cold, and the dining area was even colder. We shared a couple appetizers, boneless buffalo fingers and potato skins. The buffalo fingers were okay but the potato skins were horrible, they were like 2 potatoes cut in half with cheese and bacon on top. Not even cooked!! How hard is it to screw up the easiest things?! For dinner I got a burger that came out overcooked. Had we not been going somewhere I may have said something to our server, but we were heading out afterwards so it wasn't even worth waiting again. Also, after we got our food dropped off to us it was as if our server just forgot about us. We literally had to seek him out to get our bill and then again to actually give him our money.
Unfortunately I probably wouldn't go back to this Four's location. It's just not up to par with either the Quincy or Norwell location.
First thing is I find ALL sports to be BARBARIC so I am amazed how many morons go there just to watch their favorite team throw a ball further than the other team. Often I go there and sit at the bar get a white wine spritzer and a bite. A couple of weeks ago I am sitting trying to read my novel when it got REALLY LOUD in there as the hometown Boston Patriot scored. I asked the bartender to either to turn off the volume or all the televisions in which he wouldnt. Then in vain I tried to tell the customers to be silent so I could finish my chapter they didnt and some neanderthals followed me outside and took my book and gave me a wedgie (back and front).
Service is excellent and the Bobby Orr Steak and Cheese is to die for.
One of my favorite bars, living in Boston!
Pros: Awesome bartenders (Mike/Pat etc!) who put up with silly orders like beer and hot tea (for those cold days!) Food is pretty good, great portion sizes. Bathrooms both upstairs and downstairs. Atmosphere is EXACTLY what you want for a sports bar. Lots of TVs and lots of channels. They even get the Big Ten channel (which is why I initially came in for).
Cons: Can be busy during game days (any sport) but that area near the Garden tends to get packed, so get there early or suffer the wait.
Disclaimer: This review is for the bar only. I have never had a meal here.
I have spend a couple of Football Sunday's here. They have NFL Sunday Ticket which tons of TVs and awesome beers on tap. What more could you really ask for from a sports bar. I have heard that the food is pretty good too.
I definitely love the atmosphere as the bar has never been super crowded when I have been here. So I don't feel claustrophobic like I do in most sports bars. I recommend checking this place out to watch some sports games.
When we walked in the manager was nice asked us where we would like to sit and our waittress was awesome she was so funny and really helpful with dish ideas when we were stuck. I ordered the clam chowder to start, IT WAS AMAZING, nice and thick and nice size clams. Then came dinner....I order the steak tips MEDIUM RARE with onion rings, the tips came out extremely rare almost raw, I had trouble cutting it with a steak knife, come on. Â One other person at the table ordered the teriyaki steak tips at MEDIUM, hers was more raw then mine. I just do not understand how you could possibly think that these were cooked to order. The onion rings were boring no taste to them. Service was great but I would go there for the bar and huge televisions, not the food..I would come back but only for drinks.
Review Source:since boston seems to completely shut down at 10pm, my options for food were pretty limited. Â none of the best restaurants in beantown seem to be open at this hour -- so fours it was.
i'm not sure if it's bruins season or not yet, but i was pleasantly surprised by how much less obnoxious the sports fans were than i anticipated. Â the atmosphere was a bit noisy, but that was mostly due to normal conversation (and yes, the occasional athletic cheer or jeer); at least there was no loud music or screaming idiot drunks.
the food is solidly decent. Â best thing i had was the chocolate mousse. Â however, i'd stick to appetizers and sandwiches here -- just my personal opinion -- the food's not good enough to spring the extra money for an entree. Â however, my friend got the yaz, i got the bbq cheddar burger with some caramelized onions, and both were yummy -- the fries were fantastic as well.
it's nothing to write home about ... but if everything really good is closed and you're hungry, i think four's is probably a good reliable standby.
This review is hard to write because my first hour at the Fours was fantastic. Great service, awesome sandwiches (the Bobby Orr steak tips/cheese was pretty amazing however the break was bizarre), and a good beer selection HOWEVER...
Once we finished our meals we were hoping to have a few more drinks and maybe dessert. Little did I know that The Fours like to have about half the staff periodically walk by your table hoping your done (you guys don't even try to hide it, awkward!) and periodically bring the check and ask if it's ready yet even though we are clearly drinking and looking at other menu items! It's
1) Rude
2) Awkward
3) Unprofessional
To be honest, I was falling in love with this place but I don't think I'd go back at this point unless someone REALLY wanted to go there.
Every once in a while, I stop here before or after Bruins games. Â Of course, because of this, it's loud, has a long wait time and is filled beyond capacity. Â I can't really blame them for that. Â
I've come a few other times at off-peak hours, and I enjoyed myself. Â The service was efficient if a bit chilly, the food was passable and they had a number of interesting beers on tap.
The place has a comfortable, familiar atmosphere, and I think it's a decent location to pass an hour or so when travelling to the area.
Not everything on the menu is something to write home about.. But I've never had anything here that i DIDN'T like. Â I generally go to The Four's for lunch; the food is good enough to keep me coming back.
Pleasant ambiance. Â Plenty of TV screens. Â The beer selection isn't very competitive (there are a lot of other bars nearby).
Great rolls. Â The Doug Flutie is awesome. Â I get it with the sauce on the side.
The Fours was packed the day I went. Of course it did not help that it was following a Bruins game so the 45 minute wait was to be expected. The only problem they have is there is really no place to wait as the entrance area is limited and when you start filling up around the bar to have a drink while waiting it gets pretty crowded. The overall atmosphere is nice and the staff keep things in order and don't take no crap for anyone who is drunk and trying to cause trouble.
Their clam chowder is great for a good starter and I had the club sandwich for dinner. I enjoyed it as the entire meal was plentiful with several beers to wash it all down. This is definitely a spot to be both before and after the games.
I had looked forward to coming here for so long! And it really didn't disappoint.
We went to sit in the upstairs level before a hockey game and have some food and beer. They have an elevator in the bar. AN ELEVATOR! This makes it impossible to drunkenly fall down the stairs.
There is so much sports memorabilia you literally don't know where to look first. The person who greeted us checked our ID and stamped our hands and told us we could go where we wanted to sit. Our server was also nice and friendly, and very efficient.
I had the Bobby Orr sandwich. It was SO GOOD SO GOOD SO GOOD. Cheesey and meaty... yep. The perfect sandwich. Prices were good, I was really full and beered up for not too much money. Yahoo!
I would definitely come here again when I make my way back to Boston. The atmosphere is really fantastic and lively and there are TVs to watch, stuff on the walls to look at, and of course beers to drink.
If you are in the area, there is no better place than The Four's to root for your favorite team. Â The ambience is great. Â Excited fans, great beer selection, and flat screens viewable from every angle in the establishment. Â
If you don't want to battle the bar people for an order of beer, just check in at the front and you can sit down for some dank buffalo chicken nachos and enjoy your beer sitting down. Â During a post-celtics game dinner time, our party was seated instantly. Â The staff is also very friendly.
Kitchen closes at midnight. Â Double plus.
I LOVE the Fours. Â I'll start by saying that I'm a huge food and drink snob that loves the Bruins & Celtics, & the Fours has become prettymuch the only place I like to go when I'm over near the garden.
Food - The food & drinks are as good as it gets for a sports bar. Â I love their buffalo chicken nachos (yum), steak & cheese wraps, and their famed "Bobby Orr" sandwich. Â Â I've also tried some of their healthier options (a girl can only eat so many chips with cheese), like their salads and sandwiches, and they have all been fabulous as well.
Bar/Drinks - I love the bartenders at the fours... they are the quickest and most professional I've seen anywhere (and I've bartended, so I know!). Â The drinks are solid, have a decent amt of booze, and are served up quickly. Â They're also pretty cheap for a bar in the area.
Crowd - This place is packed before and after the game.  Some of the  people who come here are actually pretty f-in annoying, but that's par for the course in a sports bar.  There seems to be a mix of older and younger people, and you can usually grab a booth for dinner if you're willing to get there early enough.
Other stuff - 2 floors, lots of huge TVs, great location right near the garden, super friendly staff & owner, terrible & too-small bathrooms.
Gha.
How do you review a place like The Fours. Â Is there a sliding scale for sports bars? Â I'm not sure.
In any case, the food is reasonable for bar food and the staff is helpful enough. Â The location can't be beat of course, and you can't put a value on Boston sports right now... which they will be sure to be showing on their many screens at all times.
Overall, i say... yeah, its worth a go if you are looking for a sports bar with food near the Garden.
The Four's is a classic in downtown Boston. Â Not just because it's near the Garden, but because it's also near several of my friends offices and that's one of the primary spots we meet for lunch. Â It's a good sports bar, partially because it takes a different approach to sports than most.
In fact, if you're going there to watch sports there are plenty of better places in town. Â Actually, there are plenty of better places on that same block! Â The TVs are small and not great. Â But the sports memoribilia on the walls? Â It's authentic. Â It's classic. Â It's not just stuff bought out of some catalog for sports bars looking to decorate. Â It's both obvious and obscure. Â So you may not have the best time watching a game, but you'll always find a picture, a jersey, a moment in sports to reminisce about with friends (or, since this is Boston, more likely argue about!).
The food is perfectly respectable, with good wings and good sandwiches. Â Until you get to the John Hannah Burger. Â Meaty, juicy, drips all over the place, wide range of toppings (I prefer it with cheddar and chili, myself). Â Nice, soft seeded roll. Â It's un-fancy and perfect. Â This is by far one of the best burgers in Boston. Â And the fact that it comes with a little pot of baked beans is a perfect old-school Boston touch. Â I personally hate beans, but as a long time Bostonian it warms my heart to see them there.
So for quality of food and beverage, for respectable service, for overall decency, I'd normally give the Four's three workhorse stars. Â But for atmosphere, for a great burger, and for the hours I've spent there arguing about Orr vs. Bourque, Tito Francona, Doc Rivers, and "Is Belichick the greatest of all time, or just top three?", I'm giving them an old-school four.
The Fours has some pretty bomb lunch food! Â When myself and other employees decide its time for a team lunch, we usually head here. Â
Things to know about the Fours:
Quesadillas have bacon.  I was a bit thrown off at first but its so damn good I'm now obsessed and am now  having trouble deviating away from this menu option.
It also has some unique sandwiches all named after athletes. Â I usually don't stray away from the typical reuben or turkey club, but i LOVE the Doug Flutie- fried chicken with mozzarella and buffalo sauce.. HELL YEA.
Pretty decent outdoor seating- really good for people watching/ drunks trying to find North Station (literally 20 feet away).
If you're in the North End and are not in the mood for Italian (rare) I would head here.
I've never been here during a game, but I'm sure it gets rowdy.
I spent a low-key New Years Eve at The Fours and was highly impressed with the entire experience, through and through. Â And yes, that was even while people who had just attended the Dane Cook show down the block came in and infiltrated the place. Â Even then, my experience was nothing short of wonderful.
The bartenders were on top of their game and the drinks themselves were reasonably priced and very reasonably filled. Â And the menu is large and in charge - with something like 15 types of sandwiches to choose from, 10 dinners, tons of apps... Â I tried someone's "Bobby Orr" sandwich, which consisted of some of the most delicious steak tips I have ever had. Â And my quesadilla and pasta dish were scrumptious. Â Enough so that I would consider going back to The Fours, which is not really on my way to anything, just to get any of those dishes again, in a heartbeat.
Don't let the "sports bar" moniker fool you. Â It's not really your typical sports bar. Â It's not loud, the menu is more "dinner out with your friends" rather than pub fare, and the place isn't just a bunch of way too large televisions showing every game. Â So those looking for a sports bar experience would probably do better elsewhere. Â If you want to have a great dinner and happen to watch a game of some sort, then this is your place.
This isn't really a sports bar, for the record.
Just 'cause you got TV sets overhead with sports going on 24/7 doesn't REALLLLY make you a legit sports bar. Â What is it then? Â A cross between Irish pub and Uno's?
I don't know about this place. Â Too many framed sports memorabilia on the wall, my boyfriend's father banged his hand into it at least three times. Â It's seriously just a plain ol' restaurant on the top floor, bar downstairs. Â And seriously, if we're going to the restaurant, please stop asking for ID's. Â I came for a meal, not to get wasted before going to the Celtics game.
At any rate, the Larry Bird chicken sandwich was mediocre at best. Â The highlight of my dish was the small brown ceramic "pot" that came on the plate 1/4 full of baked beans. Â First of all, why is it only 1/4 full when my sandwich costs $10, and secondly, where's the MAYO on my "MAYO Larry Bird" sandwich? Â JESUS. Â
But the waiter had a nice ass, and I was in a good mood about the Celtics game, so I enjoyed my meal and scarfed down the AMAZING, sizzling, crunchy house fries, perfectly seasoned on my plate.
The burgers looked juicy (cheddar BBQ and the one with roasted veggies and brie cheese got a good review), so if I ever come here again, I'll try that. Â But seriously, I am upset about not getting more baked beans. Â That was a disgrace.
and whatever you do, don't order the damn mac and cheese for $20.

Voted best sport bar by S.I right... I go here for one thing.. The "Johnny Kelly" sandwich. My favorite on a Sunday afternoon when I'm milking a hang over.
If you go here during football season go early get a seat at the bar. The bartenders are a riot & they know all the stats too. Last year I was sitting at the bar watching the Pats kick ass against the Jets. We had Boston on one side N.Y on the other. Chants flew back and fourth all day but by the the end of the game the New Yorkers bought a round for our side... Good sports for LOSERS!!
