Terrible service, mediocre food. But the comedy show was good - except for the rude waitresses making so much noise.

Thanks Allison B,. who recommended this place to me as a good spot for local comedy. I was eager to check it out. The other reviews are pretty dead-on. Overall, I would come back here. I found all of the comedians surprisingly good and there was a full house too. Was laughing pretty much the entire show! They are expected to have an even better line up with well-known comedians next Friday.

A few things about the rest of the experience...

This place was a little hard to find- hidden in a back lot off Rte 50. The GPS mis-navigated us a few times which was frustrating. Cover is cash-only- no exceptions. The only place that we could get cash was the 7-Eleven ATM up the block. Then, when we got back, the doorman was pre-occupied with a cell phone call and gave us this "dont bother me" look as we tried to give him the entry fee. Not quite the welcome reception.

Its a little rough, dive bar crowd but friendly and disarming.

It does reek horribly of cigarette smoke here if you sit anywhere near the side door near the smoking bar side- and people do come and go out of there constantly. Our mistake!

Drink/food service- the worst. The waitress served one table just ahead of us 3 rounds of drinks and it took over a half hour for us to even get her attention. By that point I had given up entirely since the show was startng and went over to the bar and got drinks myself. She ignored us the rest of the night. Drink prices- affordable, good.

A nice place to come to enjoy live music, good food and drink in Fairfax County, Va. The owner Jay and his staff go all out to provide great service to their customers. The sound is excellent. There are two separate bars, one for smokers and one for non-smokers. LIve music and dancing add to the fun of this local establishment.

I have only gone to Sully's 3 times. All three times I enjoyed mysel a lot. The food is not that great but the bar and atmosphere were great. They have live music and people get up and dance. Kind of a dive but I have a group that gets together there every year or two. The 6 dollar steaks are about what ytou would expect.

Let me start by saying that Kristen and Cara are amazing bartenders. I've been going to Sully's a long time. I just went back for the first time since the renovations. Here are my thoughts...

a. I like the idea of having the bars split. They now have a main room, a room with a stage, a smaller party room, and a smoking bar. The smoking bar has smoke eaters, but they were apparently not working. It was TERRIBLE.

b. I was there for a concert that had sold out in advance. I can only assume that is why the servers on the floor were so bad. I personally went through Kristen, however, two friends of mine who were sitting with me went through the rudest server I have ever seen. In almost 6 hours, they were served 2 drinks. She server forgot to enter their food order, 2 times. It took them 2 hours to get a cheeseburger. They asked for the check at 10pm, then again at 11pm, then again at 1am, and it was finally delivered to them at 1:30am at last call.

c. It's a bar, the food isn't going to be great. I didn't eat there, but my friends medium rare cheese burger was black, small, and looked like a hockey puck. Her fries were crinkle cut out of a bag.

d. Nova needs more places for live music, The stage is MUCH better than the stage Sully's had before. The whole band can actually stand on it now. For local music, this is still one of the best places to be.

e. Drinks are good times.

I'll always go back... Sully's is like "home" in the social music group around here. However, if you are looking for great food and service, might I recommend going somewhere over by the Costco.

If you like dive bars, strong drinks, and good bartenders, this is the place to be. Live music, smoking lounge, and poker nights...I come here often. Kristen, Aaron, and John are the best bartenders. If Aaron's working, ask for a Big Aaron shot-you won't regret it-until the morning. ;-) food is average to above average bar food. Lots of regulars.

The food sucks. It's almost all fried, and most of it comes off a truck. I play pub poker there on the weekends and have a few beers, but I won't eat there anymore.

Four of us stopped in here last night, mostly to satisfy our curiosity. I work in the area, and no one ever talks about this place, so I was dying to find out if there was a reason for that.

When we entered, we discovered the place is deceptively spacious, which emphasized the fact that it was pretty dead (though it was a Thursday night). There's 4 or 5 coin-operated pool tables, so we decided to grab some drinks and shoot a few games. Our waitress was extremely pleasant, and my buddy ordered the perogies and kielbasa, which turned out to be way better than I ever expected. It doesn't strike me as the kind of place I'd want to eat a significant meal at, but maybe it's not bad?

We soon learned that Thursday is karaoke night, and we were treated to the best the locals had to offer. We got the impression the same crowd came out to sing the same songs week after week. One guy even had a belt - like the WWF championship kind - which he draped over his front as he sang some song I didn't recognize.

After we wrapped up a few pool games, we grabbed seats at the triangle-shaped bar. Our bartender, Allison, was awesome (cute too, albeit a Cowboys fan). Lots of smiles and prompt drink refills.

All in all, Sully's is pretty dive-y (forgot to mention the broken glass door which was apparently the result of some recent drunken patron hijinks gone awry), but not a bad place to shoot some pool, and grab a few drinks and some bar food with your buddies on occasion.

Weird location in an old strip mall but decent.
Good menu, lots of apps & sammie. We had a $25 (must spend) http://Restaurant.com GC so we opted for the higher priced items of beef stroganoff (awesome!) and NY Strip (perfectly cooked, very tender). The App sampler platter was overpriced and disappointing. Good service, never an empty drink.
