I have been to Virgil's several times and have never had any issues with the food or the servers. Last time I was there I had the burger (with bacon and egg of course) and it was outstanding as usual. Â I can't remember my waiters name, but he was the guy with the beard. Â He was super friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Virgil's, but yes, bring your wallet.
Review Source:I love the character of this quaint little restaurant. The art (for sale) hanging on the walls in the dining room made for interesting conversation pieces.
The service was attentive and helpful with answering our questions. Â My friends and I stopped in for a "girls night" get together and we each ordered sandwiches. Â I have to be honest and say that for what the sandwiches were, they were a little overpriced. Â Don't get me wrong, they tasted delicious, but my reuben sandwich was over 10 bucks alone. Â For a reuben, not some fancy smancy gourmet specialty...just a reuben. Â Then add my drinks.
I have a feeling that when I go back and try something on their menu that is more 'gourmet specialty'... I might have a better opinion about the food-cost ratio. Â We shall see; stay tuned.
Went to Virgil's for Valentines Day and was absolutely blown away. This was my girlfriend and I first time eating there and it lived up to all the hype we have heard. The building is so cozy and warm feeling. It might be a little small but it works very well and I felt at home while enjoying my dining experience. Our waitress was awesome, she had a lot of tables, never stopped moving and yet she was attentive and a great server. Most importantly, the food was out of this world. Since it was V-Day they had a 4 course special for $50 (Which was a steal of a price for the quality and quantity) We each tried this 4 course special and order, bacon wrapped figs, shrimp cocktail, caramelized  pear salad, french onion soup, surf and turf, and coconut creme pie. I know, that is a ton of food...but the portions were perfect and the taste was amazing. To be honest, every single dish was excellent, full of flavor, fresh, and could tell was made with care. Even the homemade bread was incredible. I have lived in Cincinnati for 6 years and was upset I have never been here before. I can not wait to return to experience the full menu which is always changing. I must try the frog legs with jalapeno hush puppies soon.  Thank you to all the staff members at Virgil's for making our dining experience wonderful, we will be back soon.  If you want to dine at a beautiful place, and experience local fresh food cooked by a talented Chef, go to Virgil's.
