I've eaten at apple bees plenty of times, because I love their Trio deal. But the one in sterling is just an absolute mess. Â We walked in a little after lunch time on a Saturday since we've had a pretty big brunch. Â The hostess was no where to be found. Â We stood there literally for 5 minutes, hoping that any of the other employees that saw us would seat us instead. Â As I was thinking about just walking out, we saw the hostess come out from the kitchen and seated us. Â Our waitress took some time to get to us (she had no other tables but was just talking to bar tender and laughing). Â After placing our food order, it took 30 minutes to get our food, which at other more upscale places i'd understand...but this is apple bees...it's not like they make anything from scratch. Â I didn't order the trio this time, and ordered a pasta dish instead. Â It was seriously the worst food I've had. Â I would have preferred to eat McDonald's instead. Â
Some teenage kids came in and sat in the booth near us. Â The restaurant at that point was dead and we were pretty much the only patrons besides people at the bar. Â It seemed that those kids were our waitresses friends, because she sat down with them whilst walking past my empty glass of water that I had placed on the edge of the table for her to see and refill. Â She sat down with them the entire time and talked about "some party last night, where they all got totally wasted". Â Really? Â Is this what employee's should be talking about near customers? Â
But that's not the worst part. Â These kids were maybe 17-19 years old. Â The manager came out who looked like a person I would not want to be around with my kids, and he was flirting with a girl that looked like she was MAYBE at the most 18 years old. Â It was frankly disgusting. Â The manager looked like he was in his early 30's, and the girl was very uncomfortable.
I will not be returning back to this nasty, disgusting place.
Wow, I was surprised to see this one rated so poorly, I've been coming here on a regular basis and have had great service. The food is on par with every other Applebee's and I've never had to wait significantly for anything. As far as a chain restaurant like Applebee's goes, this one exceeds my expectations.
Review Source:So it's Applebee's what can you really expect? It familiar so being from out of town on vacation it's a safe place. Service was slow. They ran out of glasses because they were busy...at least that is what the waiter said. It was a Saturday night at 7 pm... Far from busy. It was maybe half full. We sat right away. No wait. So I don't think they were busy. Ordered a raspberry iced tea. It was 90 percent syrup. Also had the quesadilla burger. It was tasty and filling. I'm sure ill go back to Applebee's again back in Chicagoland, but this one I'm gonna pass by for the week I'm here. Nothing special really, just Applebee's.
Review Source:Too Gangsta 4 me! Â The "ladies" at the front had a stare down with me after I told them they were nasty for eating yogurt while serving people food. Â I think the one white female server was trying to serve more than drinks at the bar...she was all up on the male patrons--literally. Â She was trying to sit on their laps! Â She also talked like she was back on the block--all f*** this, and f*** that. Â I went in on Easter Sunday--bad idea, but wanted to get something quick before a movie. Â Unless you can hang with their crew, I would not recommend.
Review Source:We had a great server named Lauryn who was very accommodating and friendly at first.  Since it's St. Patrick's day she made all our drinks green per our 8 year olds request.  My skinny Mojito was delicious.  Then the service really SLOWED down.  It took a while for us to be able to even make our order.  Then it  took even longer to get our food and second round of drinks.  Then even longer to get have the opportunity to order our dessert and get it.  Then it took forever for the check and EVEN longer to have them take our card.  And big surprise it took super long to have them bring back our card. All in all it was a LONG experience.  Food was ok...what can I say it's Applebees.
Review Source:Not sure what's with me and Applebee's. Â Every one I have visited sucks in service and customer service. Â I have eaten at numerous places and this restaurant chain does not work for me. Â We arrives way ahead of the dinner crowd and the waiter took his time getting to us. Â When his section filled up, he constantly overlooked us. Â Maybe because we were the only blacks in his section. Â Needlessly to say, thumbs down. Â Not cool!
Review Source:I went to Applebee's today and I was very disappointed by the service and the food. Â It was not busy and I can understand why. Â The waiter came by once in a while - never asked how the food was or if everything was ok. Â I have not been in a restaurant where the chef did not know how to make mashed potatoes. Â They were not just lumpy which I expected some lumps, but they were hard meaning the potatoes were not cooked. Â The waiter never even asked why the whole order of potatoes were still on my plate when I was finished. Â Don't think I'll be going back there.

I recently brought my family into the Applebee's restaurant in Sterling, Va and had a very disappointing experience. Â The bartenders obnoxious friends came into the bar, used foul language, and offended two of my family members. Â THE WORST PART...the bartender did nothing and the manager ignored us. Â This level of service is never acceptable and I hope you reconsider your other dining options before going to this Applebee's. Â I cannot speak for the dining rooms or servers at this location, but I can tell you that the poor bar service, disrespectful clientele, and inattentive management are enough to dissuade me from ever returning again.

I was at the Applebees in Sterling VA today. The service was terrible. What is with the bad-service at restaurants around my area? This may have been the worst by far. The server we had seemed like he just didn't give a damn. He said everything in a rude way like we were a burden to him. We were seated and we were immediately asked if we were ready to order in a very rude tone. We didn't have time to even open the menus so we asked him to give us a couple minutes. A few minutes later he asked in a rude tone "Are you guys ready yet?" We then went ahead and ordered our food and I ordered a steak with a baked potato and steamed vegetables. I noticed he didn't ask what I wanted on the baked potato so I just assumed they would put the standard stuff on it. When our food came out, there wasn't anything on the potato. It was just a plain potato. Then I started cutting the steak and most of it was just nothing but fat. The service was bad, the food was bad. This was by far the worst Applebees I have ever been too and I will definitely not return. I have also sent a complaint, I will keep everyone informed in how they handle customer complaints.
Edit: So I received a call today from someone from the corporate offices and the lady was very kind and really acted like she cared. Even if she didn't, she showed that she cared and she is sending me a $20 gift card. She was a very kind person. About an hour after that phone call, I received another call from the store manager who wasn't as friendly. He said stuff like he would appreciate if I gave him a call or to ask to speak to the store manager instead of sending in a complaint. Â He wanted to make sure I have a good experience and all in the future however, It was obvious he didn't like me sending a complaint to corporate. So, his tone of voice seemed like he was aggravated (which I guess is understandable because he just got a call from corporate with how displeased they were) but he wants to make sure I have a good future experience probably so corporate doesn't give them a call again.
