I love Tremont 647. It was my neighborhood place for many years and I still love going back. The pajama brunch is my favorite! They are constantly changing up the menu and everything I've ever had here has been great. Really great atmosphere, cozy, and friendly. In the warmer months they have sidewalk seating.

The few times I came here, you were pretty good, and I kept coming back, but not anymore. THANK YOU Tremont 647 for ruining my birthday dinner!!!

On my special day, the boyfriend had arranged a surprised birthday dinner. The drinks were ok and the appetizers were ok. It was the entrees which made me never want to come here again. Each entree was barely ok, if not terrible. The food was blackened (not in the good way) and barely warm. I was totally disappointed.

Also since it was a surprise, I got one cake from my boyfriend and another from my best friends. We were charged an extra few dollars ($2-3) surcharge per person for cake but that's understandable considering they have dessert there but we brought our own cake and used their utensils/plate service.

Overall, service was ok but the food was disappointing, ill think twice about returning.

As an avid restauranteur I can vouch the food to be sub-par and the drinks to be 'meh'. Nothing to boast about, yet.

I brought my parents here for Father's Day brunch this year. It was overall enjoyable, but not as great as it could have been.

The food was solidly good. I ordered the biscuits and gravy; my eggs were overdone but aside from that it was very tasty. Dad got the huevos rancheros--excellent--and my stepmother got the croissant-wich--also good, if small. The coffee was excellent and we enjoyed their patio seating.

My major complaint was with the service. Yes, it was busy (Father's Day brunch and all) but we were the first seating and the restaurant was not full. Our waiter repeatedly forgot about us and just sort of generally seemed hungover or otherwise miserable. The food also took a very long time to come to the table, and they brought everything out at once even though we had ordered an appetizer which should have shown up first.

Unfortunately,  even though I liked the food I probably wouldn't go back. There are enough excellent brunch places in the South End and elsewhere in Boston that I'd rather go for a place I know will be awesome all-around.

Nice place to go for a drink.  I can't recall if I have had a complete dinner there but I have wolfed down a honking cheeseburger and tons of momos at the bar.

The bartenders are great, food prices reasonable and the space his cute if not very tight.

I am torn.  Our experience started off wonderfully, and ended not-so-great.  Our server, Zack, was awesome.  He gave great recommendations.  The bread and bean dip were delicious, so were our drinks (I can't remember the name of mine but it had bourbon and sparkling wine in it - YUM).  The short-rib dumplings were our favorite.  The stuffed clams were good, too (a little spicy - in a good way).  I ordered the tofu tacos (for some reason I thought maybe these would be the underdog on the menu - even though Zack didn't recommend them).  Now I know why - they were pretty bland/flavorless.  I wouldn't order them again.  My friend ordered the lamb, which he was really excited about, but they forgot to put it in so he ended up sharing my tacos with me.  Lastly, they brought out the fontina cheese stuffed tater-tots - how could you go wrong, right?!  Eh...it tasted like they rolled these in salt - literally.  So sad.  They were really bad.

Zack's shift had ended after our appetizers came out and we had another server that we didn't see much of.  He came over and apologized for "our previous server's error" in not putting in the lamb.  I thought it was kind of rude that he threw his colleague under the bus.  It wasn't the end of the world - we were full anyways and they took the tacos off of our bill.  I'd probably give this place a try again and just stick with ordering a bunch of apps!

The absolute best food we have ever had in our life. We're not the trendiest eaters though we can say we've eaten @ some of the best/trendiest places in the country.

Andy is a pure genius and a great host to boot. Do the multi-course tasting and it will be the best culinary experience you'll ever have.

    Brunch review!

To start, who were all these people eating in fun, festive pajamas? Do they really sleep in two piece ensembles? I would have joined them in my PJs, but that would have meant showing up with nothing but a pair of boxer briefs (sorry for the visual--or perhaps you're welcome??). I guess that would be acceptable on Pride weekend, which is when I went, but it was probably a little too chilly anyways.

This is what you call digression. Now where were we? That's right, brunch. Everyone's favorite hung-over weekend tradition. Tremont 647 has a few inspired dishes on the menu (most notably a crab rangoon scramble atop a scallion pancake and a giant homemade pop tart filled with banana and chocolate), but nothing that would make me rush back anytime soon.

Tremont only accepts brunch reservations for parties of 6 or more, so I scrounged up five friends to avoid a wait (good call, as the restaurant was quite busy, and people who walked in with parties larger than two were greeted with some obscene wait times). There were quite a few servers on duty considering how small the restaurant is, but they still had trouble keeping up with empty dishes and water glasses in need of refills. Our waiter in was even a little surly, which marred what would have otherwise been a pretty good brunch experience.

    Food:  I had the Cavatelli,
which was with spring peas and rabbit.
somehow, the rabbit to like tuna.
there was so much heavy cream,
    it overwhelm the flavor completely.

Staff:  very attentive and super polite.
One friend sent back this same dish (I shuddered..
having worked in kitchens for 15 years and seen it all),
but they were not offended at all!  *smile*
He apologized and offered to replace it with anything else.

As a disclaimer - I already loved Tremont 647 because they are a longtime supporter of Taste of the South End, an event benefiting AIDS Action Committee.

I won a gift card to Tremont 647 through Taste of the South End, and was really excited to finally go try it out in person. A friend and I went late on a Thursday night and got seated immediately. The first thing I noticed was how much I loved the background music they played - at one point I heard De La Soul and I was sold.

The greatest part was when the bread got dropped off at our table, and my friend asked if there were any gluten-free options. Next thing we know, Chef Andy Husbands is at our table asking questions to figure out what he could prepare for her. It was SO unexpected and so appreciated, especially for something as small as replacing bread!

The food was amazing and we could not have been more satisfied. I swear I would have eaten four servings of the Creole fries if it was physically possible.

Towards the end of the meal, we were wondering why it was taking so long to get our bill - and the next thing you know we have two desserts in front of us, banana cream pie and chocolate almond bacon bark. If there was anything that could ever seal a 5-star review - that was it. The pie was perfection.

Amazing food and a chef that cares about his customers as well as contributing to the community through non-profit fundraising events -- definitely check Tremont 647 out!

    Our experience here was excellent!

About a month ago, Boston hosted the "Bacon and Beer Festival."  There were many dishes from various restaurants around the city, one of which being from Tremont 647.  We already had reservations for a few weeks later, and in talking with the person at the stand, we found out that it was the executive chef, Andy, from the restaurant.  He asked for our names and told us that although he would be out of the county during our reservation, that he would take care of us.

We thought nothing of this, because restaurants often blow steam and try to make themselves look good.  Fast forward a few weeks later, we arrive at our reservation (party of 5).  The restaurant is nice -- small but very nice.  We are escorted to what seemed like the best table in the house -- once again, didn't think much of it at the time. After ordering drinks/appetizers, our waiter as well as a few other staff come over and set down samples of a zucchini salad compliments of the chef.  The waiter explains that he remembers myself and my girlfriend from the Bacon and Beer Festival and that these were taken care of compliments of the executive chef, Andy, and that he gives us our regards.

Rarely do you see someone go out of their way to make your experience this pleasant, let alone a few weeks later, when Andy could have forgotten about us and gone about his business.  The fact that he went out of his way to make it a pleasant experience for us, even when he was in Paris at the time.

The rest of our meal was fantastic.  My girlfriend's father and I had the special that night --- ribs with cole slaw and cornbread.  The ribs were some of the best I ever had.  The other people in our party had the ribeye steak and the fried chicken --- both amazing as well.  Desert was fantastic as well.

The service was also excellent -- our waiter certainly cared about our table but did not come around TOO often.  He let us eat our meal and enjoy our time and came around exactly the perfect amount of times and just when we needed him.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant.  Fantastic service and excellent food, and Executive Chef Andy is a great guy.

I scheduled a reservation for Tremont 647 on a whim - it had availability at the time that I needed, could accomodate our party size, and the menu looked good. I booked quite a bit in advance because I knew Boston graduations were coming up and things would book quickly.

Fast forward to 2 weeks later, I went to the Boston Bacon & Beer Fest, and happened upon a table from the restaurant - chef Andy Husbands was there serving bacon mac & cheese. Delicious! I mentioned that I was going to be at the restaurant in a couple weeks, and Andy asked my name and said he unfortunately would not be there, but that he would tell the kitchen to take good care of me. While I felt this was a nice thing to say, I didn't actually expect anything.

This past weekend, I had my reservation. We waited for only a minute, were seated at the big booth in the back of the restaurant, which gave us a measure of privacy/separation from the other diners without being isolated, and were promptly brought water and a tasty onion-topped bread and spread.

A few minutes later, our waiter brought over a treat from the kitchen - a very tasty zucchini salad. Andy had remembered my name, relayed my reservation date to the staff, and made sure they acknowledged me - I was surprised and so impressed.

We all loved our food - my mom and sister got the fried chicken, my dad and boyfriend the ribs, and I had the steak. The fontina stuffed tots are a must. For dessert we all split the banana cream pie (amazing crust) and some of the bacon almond bark.

The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the service. Our waiter was very efficient, but not particularly friendly, and I felt as if he was a bit annoyed when we had questions/weren't immediately ready to order.

As a side note, I would also love to see the lobster mac & cheese as an entree instead of just an appetizer!

After reading other reviews, I will be back for brunch for sure!

This may have been the best meal I've ever had in the city!

To start we got the BBQ wings. Best wings by far.  Generous portion served in a sweet/spicy sauce that I can't even describe! Get the fried chicken and you won't be disappointed!

Service was awesome.  Our server answered any questions we had with a smile on his face and was great at recommending us what to get to eat and drink.  The open kitchen definitely held my attention for a good portion of the meal. It amazes me to watch all those people work in synchronization and so quickly and the end result is an amazing plate of food.

    I will definitely be back!

    ER.MER.GERD..BRERNCH.

Yup. Hands down, one of the best places to have your morning and lunch fare.  During the brunch rush, the waitstaff is dressed in PJs, clearly making you wish you had done the same. Our waiter managed to successfully pull off a onesie. Tremont 647 is a great little place located right on Tremont in the Back Bay area.

The brunch selection is a bit overwhelming, but there are plenty of options.  Our party managed to all snack on Fried Chicken Eggs Benedict, a breakfast burger and the Banana Nutella french toast.

The Fried Chicken worked incredibly well in its benedictian form.  It was not at all too battered.   The breakfast burger, topped with a crazy good guacamole, fried egg and bacon was well-seasoned, juicy and just amazing. The Banana Nutella French Toast had a hint of bourbon and the consistency of bread pudding. Delicious city. Everything was great.

Our server was great and very helpful and fun.  It was a fantastic brunch experience and we will definitely be coming back for another meal!

Loved their taco tuesday night. I think their chicken, carnitas, beef and fried fish tacos are amazing. Didn't understand their salmon taco and don't understand why it is more expensive. The chips and guacamole great too

I've been here twice.  The first time we had a really long wait and I said I'd never go back.  I went back.  My mistake.

After waiting for almost 45 mins (when we had a reservation), brunch took over 2 HOURS! The service was so incredibly slow.  The food itself is fine, but certainly not worth the wait.  There are way too many good brunch spots in the South End to waste half your day waiting here.

I wanted to love it but only liked it.

I loved my cocktail (Sorel something...gin with hibiscus liquor and ginger and something else? IDK but it was a sunny day in a glass). I liked the Nutella poptart, but it wasn't quite as good as I was hoping a homeade poptart would be (think I would have preferred one with a fruit filling instead of all the pastry?). Plain Jane scramble was good (and kind of boring of me to order, I know).

I think our bartender kind of ruined the experience for me. He was complaining about getting called in, when we asked about the specials got all flustered and said he had just gotten there and had no idea what was going on, and made awkward jokes/remarks about pretty much everything. It was weird, and one of my pet peeves is when people at their jobs complain about their jobs to people they're serving. I work in healthcare and always imagine walking into a patient's room and being like "Ugh, man, I was up so late last night, I SO wish I weren't here..." . I suspect it wouldn't go over well, and I don't know why it's considered acceptable by servers at bars, salons, etc.

I would come back but wouldn't sit at the bar next time (which is too bad, because I did like sitting by the window for a view of the street).

Went here recently for $2 Taco Tuesday... left kinda disappointed.

First things first, the service was absolutely impeccable. Our server was knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and perfectly attentive -- easily the highlight of the meal.

The food, on the other hand, left quite a bit to be desired. Everything that went in the tacos was clearly prepared well in advance and waiting to be served under a heat lamp because it was dry and mushy (fried fish should be crispy, no?). The tortillas were a little doughy for my taste, and the tacos had veryyy little filling (I understand they're only $2, but come on now!). The tortilla chips were actually pretty delicious (how hard are they to mess up anyway...), as were the sides we ordered (guac, sour cream, etc.).

At the end of the day, you get what you pay for I suppose. As long as I can get a loaded and fresh taco for $2.50 (any day of the week) at the Mexican joint near my house, however, I think I'll steer well clear of Tremont  647.

I love brunch...I think most people like brunch, or at least I hope so because I see nothing to fault it. Saved for the weekend, filled with the most unhealthy of tasty dishes, and paired with their own line of cocktails, brunch is the epitome of good food & drink. Saturday morning (aka noon) I headed out to Tremont 647 with a friend to catch up. Located in the South End, Tremont 647 serves up a fun pajama brunch on both days of the weekend, along with $2 taco Tuesdays, oh right...and dinner every other night of the week! Casual, inexpensive, relaxed, and super friendly, Tremont 647 is definitely a place I will return.

We headed in for brunch and were seated immediately. Back we went past the bar full of jovial brunchers, the open kitchen with smiling chefs, and the waiters in pajamas to our seats.

Although the restaurant was filled we were able to sit, eat, and pay all within 40 minutes and weren't even rushed! If neither of us had plans following we could've stayed, but instead it was more of a power brunch. We took longer to decide what to order than even eat...as there are so many delicious looking brunch items!

I went with the Plain Jane Scramble with crispy bacon, hash browns, and grilled sourdough along with an iced vanilla bean coffee with cinnamon.

My friend went with the banana french toast with homemade nutella....mmmmmmm.

Now one of my top 3 go-to recommended brunch spots in Boston, I will definitely be back for dinner soon!

I've been to this restaurant twice and always had great food and great service. Food is always unique and excellent. It's a cozy environment and  a good change from the other restaurants around the South End.

I would give this restaurant 5 stars, but I had an unpleasant experience this weekend that should be shared. First, I saw a small fly in front of me during dinner. When I brushed it away and turned around to face the wall, I noticed an entire fleet of small fruit flies hanging out on the wall behind my back. Pretty gross, but not the end of the world.

The real kicker was halfway through dinner I spotted a MOUSE run through the restaurant and under the bar. If you know anything about mice, you know that when there is one, there are more. And, the fact that it came out during peak dinner hours on a Friday night means that there are probably many more and these mice are getting fearless.

I spoke to the restaurant manager after our meal, who informed me that they were aware of the fly problem (gross) but she seemed pretty surprised about the mouse.

Anyways, it's certainly NOT sanitary to have mice running around a place where food is stored and prepped. I've watched enough restaurant impossible to know that. It made me lose my appetite and detracted from what would have been a great meal.

I probably can't go back again without having flashbacks of the mouse...I'm skeptical about how clean the place is and I think others should be as well.

This is an absolutely stellar place. Everything was top notch. My friend and I came in at about 9:35 on a Saturday night and were seated immediately. The place was busy but not terribly loud. After being advised the kitchen was closing around ten, we ordered two drinks from the Bartender Greg who was so personable and quick. We ordered a Pulled Pork Sammy and two orders of fries, BBQ and Sweet Potato (Judge away). Then the kitchen sent over a Duck Confit which was one of the most savory things I have ever tasted. Then our ordered food came and the fries were seasoned perfectly; spiced just enough to make you slow down and stop looking like an idiot as you wolf them down. The Sammy was tender, easily pull-apart and had just enough sauce to make it perfect.

The service was top-notch, the food was top notch and I had only one complaint-
There were these people who came in already clearly inebriated and one guy who was the "ringleader" kept *yelling* after his friends. But it's not the restaurants fault: they can't choose their clientele, hell, they had to put up with us ;)

Pajama brunch?! AWESOME.  Just check out their menu, and I'm certain you'll be intrigued.

I would review their dishes but it seems like their menu is always changing.  I've been here for dinners and brunches and have left satisfied each and every time.  The only grievance would be parking but it is the South End.  Come and try their brunch offerings, even if it's only to see the waitstaff in their best weekend pajamas.

WOW I cannot believe that I have never been here before. My dinner staryed off with a very attentive, kind server. He offered the nightly specials and helped me finalize my choices. I got the duck wings which were delicious. Then I had the grass fed burger with blue cheese and bacon. Everything was tasty. Everyone was professional. Now, heres the icing......chocolate alomond bacon bark. Sounds gross, right? WRONG, it was do damn good.

Thank you and I will return soon!

Really good creative food.  Unbearable noise in the dining room near the bar.  We could not hear each other talk.  Service hit and miss. Great most of the night and then completely disappeared on us at the end of the night.

Shrimp and grits were perfectly prepared and plated.  Came with a heaping serving of some spicy collard greens.  This dish worked really well together.  My wife had the burger and while the sauce was good the meat was a little dry.  For dessert we had the naughty breakfast which was bread pudding with capn crunch ice cream.  Delicious.  As stated before chef Andy does not have stale ideas when it comes to his menu.

For a fun, exciting and tasty menu at reasonable prices I would recommend Tremont 647.  I don't think this this is a good date spot because of the incredible noise.  Ask for seating far away from the bar and you should be fine.

I'd say Tremont is a solid 3.5, but I rounded up a 4 beacause of the food I had which I really enjoyed.

I just did my very first brunch in Boston! After living here for 5 years. Sad? Yes.

They open at 10:30 on Sunday, but my friend and I got there early and waited in chairs outside. A little bit of a line showed up, but we were seated as soon as they opened.

We chose to sit outside, and it happened to be very nice out. My seat was a long, shared bench, which was a little shaky (so when someone else sat down, it wobbled). Might wanna check that out, guys.

Based on a recommendation from my waiter, I ordered a spin on Egg's Benedict. It was corn bread topped with a thin cutlet of fried chicken, poached eggs, and gravy. Surprisingly, it was not heavy at all. It was perfect. A great combo of everything, just enough of each ingredient, and it was a perfect portion (I was full when I finished). Eggs were cooked perfectly. There was also a side of coleslaw, which was very good as well.

I ordered a spicy bloody mary. It had a seeded/salt rim (there were rye seeds in the mix) and pickled green beans in it. It was a little too spicy for me, but, the menu does warn you! The flavors were great, though.

My friend ordered a mimosa, and a sweet potato/bacon/apple hash that came with eggs and bread. It looked really good, and she finished it.

I can't wait to go back. Everything was great!

Came to 647 Tremont for Pajama Brunch to escape the stormy weather and the experience was just not what I want to enjoy on a Sunday morning.
The food and decor are good. Yet, the prices are a bit high considering the other amazing restaurants in the South End that are better and cheaper (Metropolis, Francesas, etc). The restaurants tries to achieve a retro/cool vibe but it definitely translates more to dirty, and trying way too hard with the AWFUL 80s music blaring through the poor speaker system.

If you live in the area you should definitely try Taco Tuesday and Pajama Brunch on the weekends. Awesome food, very reasonable prices, great service.

Just don't sit in the right side of the restaurant past the bar and through a doorway. They really need to brighten it up in there! It's like an attic!

I would give it 3.5 stars if I could.

My friends go a lot for Taco Tuesday, so I joined them last night. It was my 5th time at the restaurant (prior visits were for dinner, brunch & Taco Tuesday).

The cucumber margarita was VERY good, made with brown sugar syrup and with a little bit of a spicy kick. Their nachos during taco tuesdays are as always, super yummy! They give a lot of toppings, and the cheese sauce is amazing!

For actual tacos, I got fried fish & chicken. The chicken was good but nothing special. the actual fried fish in the fish taco was super dry and salty, the cabbage and aioli that accompanied it were really good though. Interesting thing is the edge of both of my tacos were dry, like they had been sitting out for ages, which is why I ultimately gave 3 stars.

I'd definitely come back here for drinks and apps/nachos, but skip the tacos on taco tuesdays!

I have been to Tremont 647 twice now.  And both times, we had a great experience.

The first time I made reservations, I explained that my boyfriend and I were in the industry, and just wanted a quiet, low-key table in the bar area, for a fun night out. When we arrived, we had a great table, and the server was awesome and attentive, without being over-the-top. In addition to the good service, they made us feel really special - for no reason. They brought us complimentary appetizers and dessert. I don't know if it's because we are bartenders, or if we just had a great server, but it was such a nice evening.

This treatment is why I booked my boyfriend's 30th birthday dinner there. There were eight of us, and were seated in a small, private area, where we could enjoy each other while still being right next to the bar. The drinks were fantastic, and our server, Kelley, was too. He was fun and attentive and everything I look for in good service. He surprised us with two rounds of free appetizers (this included a delicious clam appetizer that even my boyfriend, who doesn't eat seafood, enjoyed). Our meals were delicious, all timed perfectly after our round of apps. To top the night off, the table was filled with a sampling of all the desserts from the restaurant, on the house, to celebrate my boyfriend's 30th... they even brought him a couple little funny gifts.

While I was not expecting this kind of treatment, nor would I expect it again, I am still smiling over our night there. To feel so special and looked after was wonderful.

I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun night out, and will definitely be going back. Thank you to the servers and the managers who have made 2 out of 2 visits really spectacular.

Stopped in for the tail end of Pajama Brunch on Saturday.  As an out of towner, I was curious if patrons actually wear PJs to the restaurant, but at the time of day we attended, the only people wearing nighties were the servers.

Speaking of servers, ours was nice, but we found her to be a tad on the annoying side.  The presentation of the specials was very theatrical and she make awkward jokes as we dined.  Bless her heart... We decided she was just trying to hard.

Best.Iced.Coffee.EVER!  Got the Mexican iced coffee per our theatrical waitress' suggestion, and she was right on the money.  Only complaint was they don't have to go cups when I wanted to get another to go.  My friend got the tang cocktail, and it was refreshing and also very good.

    Food included:
My Friend: the croquettes... Only complaint here was wish there were more (only 2).  Homemade PopTart... Will agree with other posters on this.  Unique, fun, whimsical.  Would love to try the other flavors (we had peach).  Me: Zucchini salad: fresh, bright and light.  A little on the tart side.  And the creole fries with rosemary aoli. These were great and a HUGE portion.  If there are two of you, one order is more than plenty.

Overall, great experience.  Would definitely go back!

A few co-workers and I decided last minute to do a lunch during restaurant week.  Based on menu and ability to make a reservation for 4 at 12pm, we went with Tremont 647.

The restaurant week menu was fairly extensive, and had a few apps and entrees that peek my dining companions interests.  When we arrived for our reservation, there was only 1 other table occupied.  We all figured out what we wanted to order by the time our drinks were delivered.  For apps, 3 out of 4 went with the lobster mac n' cheese and the outlier went with the heirloom tomato salad.  For entrees, 2 did the seared tuna, 1 had the pulled pork and another had the ham & cheese panini.

Apps came out 15-20min after we ordered, which would have seemed okay, if we hadn't been one of the first tables to put in an order.  Between apps and entrees, we waited 25 minutes, and watched entrees that looked like ours go to other tables.  All the food was okay; not horrible, but not awesome.

The service made me think it was a Monday and all the new people were in because it was a slow day.  But it wasn't.  When we initially sat, it appeared that only two line cooks were in the kitchen.  At some point what I assume what was the sous chef showed up and started expediting orders.  This seemed to help turn the boat around, but it was too late for my table.

We skipped on getting dessert there because no one came back to ask, and it took us another 20 minutes to get someone's attention for the bill.  I suspect we could have left, without paying the bill, and none of the waitstaff/hostess would have realized that we didn't get a bill.

This may have been a one off for them.  I probably would give it another try at some point in the future, but I'm not in a rush to go back.

I went to Tremont 647 with 6 friends a few weeks ago. They were totally cool when we showed up a bit after our 8:30 reservation and sat us at a big round table in the middle of the restaurant.

We were a bit of a rowdier group, ordering lots of drinks and [loudly] celebrating an engagement. I think we were given the best server possible -- he was calm, funny, and only slightly less attentive than I would have liked.

I ordered a few different drinks over the course of the night. I started with a pineapple martini (crisp and fresh -- loved the natural sweetness of the pineapple) and finished with a Dark n' Corky (diabolique, ginger beer, lemon juice). I loved the Dark n' Corky but was disappointed that it didn't come out until I was finished eating.

We started the meal with warm bread and hummus and a complimentary amuse bouche salad of tomatoes, cheese and pesto. The group ordered a variety of dishes (lobster mac n' cheese, carnitas, hangar steak, burger etc.) and I ordered the bluefish entree that sat upon a corn and potato salad. It was really delicious, and I think on the whole nearly everyone enjoyed what they ordered. We also got a side of  creole fries which I wasn't really a fan of. There was way too much spice on them and it was just too overpowering. I found myself chasing the creole fries with stolen regular fries off of my friend's dish just to calm the taste down.

We finished the evening with a bottle of champagne and 1 shared celebratory dessert that we told the waiter to just choose and bring out. I have no idea what this was but it was AMAZING. I wish I could remember/steal the recipe and recreate at home.

We had a really great experience there and I would definitely like to return for Taco Tuesdays!

On a separate note, my office has also catered a meeting from Tremont 647's menu. Everything arrived on time, was delicious and plentiful, and included some truly unique dishes that were memorable and surprising for everyone -- not our typical meeting food!

    Worst service ever!

Came here with some friends for drinks and Taco Tuesday.  We were waiting for a table outside, so we sat at the bar inside in the meanwhile.  The female bartender was extremely unfriendly and borderline rude.  I sat there for about 15 to 20 minutes while she walked past me numerous times and didn't even acknowledge my existence.  The male bartender finally came by and asked if I wanted a drink.  The same female bartender later took my taco order, and she just had this scowl on her face the entire time.

When we finally got a table outside after an hour-plus wait, my friend ordered 2 cokes after his first drink, and his second coke looked like water.  We were trying to figure out why it looked like that, and finally figured out after he took a sip it was because they refilled his coke without dumping out the half glass of melted ice first.

The tacos were alright, but very inconsistent.  The smoked pork taco I got was extremely greasy, while the one my friends got were not.  The chili taco tasted straight up like taco bell's taco supreme.  The chicken taco was good in my opinion, but I don't think I could deal with the service again for a $2 taco.

One of the better (and more tasty) dining options in the South End occurs every Tuesday at Tremont647 and adjoining Sister Sorel.  These adjoining restaurants featuer a selection of $2.00 tacos you can order for dinner.

I'm a huge fan of cheap eats and one can have quite a dinner (beer included) all for less than $15.00 on Tuesday's at Tremont647 or Sister Sorel. That's hard to beat. If you live in Boston or are visiting on a Tuesday night, its worth checking out. Although Tremont647 is larger and better known, I'm partial to eating at the shabby little sister restaurant, Sister Sorel and its candlelit bar and often try to finagle a high top table by the front windows.

    Here's the sitch:

    Brunch: 4-5 stars

    Taco Tuesday: 4 solid stars

    Any other dinner night: Meh

Brunch is the best here - servers are in PJs, there's always some sort of special app - homemade poptarts! - the crowd is super FUN and so many of the menu items are ridiculously good. Banana Bourbon Baked French Toast and Breakfast Burger are always great decisions.

Taco Tuesday has an equally fantastic crowd and the tacos are pretty damn good considering the low prices. On that note, since they're so cheap, try them all.

Dinner for the remaining six nights never seems to match up to the amazing-ness that is weekend brunch and Taco Tuesday. The menu doesn't seem to have the same level of personality and the restaurant can be oddly quiet.

Other than dinner, Tremont 647 is a big big must. And, their patio is pretty wonderful as well!

Dining at Tremont 647 took me back to the innocent days of my childhood. Biting into the Crab and Scallion Pancake took me back to the day I tried to jump off a moving swing. I flew face-first into the forgiving sandbox that broke my fall...but not without a mouthful of skull-saving sand. And that is what the pancake tasted like. Yucky! The Asparagus appetizer with fried egg was about as scrawny as I was, and the fake-tasting smokiness made it the nauseating reason I hated all green food  as a kid. Yucky!

The Mushroom and Ricotta Tart was the only good thing I had at here - a delicious filling with a tasty mix of mushroom and flavorful cheese with an amazing underlying cauliflower puree. Sadly, 1/3 tart + 2/3 crust does NOT equal 1 good tart. Kinda yummy...

My Hanger Steak came with a well-grilled steak, but it was the chimichurri I took issue with. Chimichurri is a marinade/sauce, not a side dish. There shouldn't be Yucky!

Dessert is the sole reason kids eat their vegetables, and the Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp was close enough. Just close enough. Not yummy but not yucky.

So if you want to flash back to your sandbox days, the Crab and Scallion Pancake is the way to go. If you're looking for more mature pursuits, go...well...anywhere but here.

To celebrate the end of my first semester of graduate school, my girlfriend and I finally used a deal I bought for Tremont 647.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two appetizers, two entrees and shared dessert.

For apps we had the house made Tasso Ham with Toast and the Crab and Scallion Pancakes.  The pancakes, which in my mind were going to be fried (a la scallion pancakes at your local chinese food joint), were fluffy savory pancake goodness!

For entries we opted for Hanger Steak, of course, and the Buttermilk Fried Chicken.  The steak was cooked perfectly, with a sauteed onion chimmichuri, grilled asparagus, and fontina stuffed tater tots!  Delish!  The fried chicken came with a biscuit of course and some bacony collard greens.  The chicken was boneless, which made it easy to cut into but wasn't as crispy as I wanted.

For dessert we ordered the butter cake with salted caramel whipped cream.  We ordered one, since our deal said one dessert, but our waiter brought us two cakes! (They were small, about the size of a building block).  Excellent.

My only gripe was that it was 7pm on a Monday and the restaurant was awfully bright.  They didn't turn the lights down until our meal had almost ended around 8:30.  We would have loved our candle lit and lights turned down a little.

    MAGICAL!

This place totally rocks!  I made reservations for the Pajama brunch for 10 on a Sunday. I got the horrible flu that's going around so I had to change the reservations for the following Sunday. I called on Friday and spoke to a wonderful woman who was fabulous! She changed my reservations to the following Sunday..She completely understood and even wished me well and to get better.  Very, very kind of her.  We went to our reservations on the following Sunday and they gave us a little room all to our selves in the Sister Sorel restaurant next door.  Everyone was so nice.  Of course, everyone was dressed up in very tasteful pajamas.  We were in very cute pajamas too.  The room they gave us was very cute!

We had a blast!  Our waitress was actually a new waitress that had only been there two weeks and you would have never known it! She was fantastic.  We all ordered different things fro the menu.  Lemon pop tarts, blue cheese fries, cinnamon apple granola to start.  Everything was fantastic!

We were totally bummed they took off the banana french toast!! But, we ordered some pretty delicious items to make up for it!  White chocolate chip pancakes and mexican frittata were two of the items. They both were delicious!

My dining group was raving the whole time and we're sure to come back! Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of us..You treated us fantastic!!  We had a blast!!
