Located across the street from the Westin Copley, this was a fun place to hang out.  My wife enjoyed the Lychee Martini.  Beer selection was okay.  Wished they had draft beers but most upscale bars don't offer that.   Good music and vibe.

The only cocktails I have tried are the Lychee Martini and some orange-flavored cocktail I ordered awhile back. Most of the time, I am pretty satisfied with a gin and tonic, and upon request, they can make a mean cherry vanilla splash (not on the drink menu)...yum!

A typical sleek bar you would expect to find not too far from Newbury Street with an interesting Euro modern flare. Serves as a great spot if you like to drink among a young, laid-back crowd. They are not joking when they call this MINIbar...you may have to wait outside for awhile or stand, especially on the busiest nights (Fri, Sat).

This place is better in the summer, when they open the large front windows. It's more of a quiet bar where you can hear a lot of conversations around you. Drinks don't particularly stand out, and they don't have a wide selection either. The interior is nice and modern, but their logo design irks me (i'm a designer). All in all, it's a nice place to just grab a drink or two after work to wind down.

Came here on a Friday evening and wasn't terribly impressed by the space or the crowd, but overall would come again for a decent lounge-type place to meet friends for a short while. Most likely out of convenience (good location near Shaw's and Prudential).

The drinks are decent in flavor, good selection of beers, but prices aren't cheap. Expect to pay Boston downtown prices I guess, but hey, at least you get good service with it.

Minibar isn't quite THE place to people watch (if you know what I mean). It has a young professionals to older professionals crowd. Because the space isn't very big, you don't have too much selection for seating areas. A lot of groups ended up just standing around wherever there was an open space with nowhere to put there coats or rest their feet. There's only 1 bar area where you can order drinks.

This place has a surprising atmosphere for a hotel bar. It feels like more of a club / lounge for the 20 something crowd then your typical low key hotel bar . I actually didn't even realize I was in  hotel until I got up to go the bathroom and had to walk through the hotel lobby.

The bar itself was a long L shaped bar surrounded by upscale twenty somethings. The vibe was pretty sheik overall, t dark room with leather furniture and techo music playing. The room had an open area to mingle in front of the bar and tables with service on the side.

At the our table our waitress was super attentive and friendly.

Drinks: On the expensive side but  very good. My girlfriend got a sangria for $9 and it was absolutely delicious. For myself I got a racer IPA which was the same price as a bud light ($6). A light strange to say the least.

The Copley Square Hotel is a gorgeous, historic boutique hotel that first opened its doors on July 4, 1891. Since then, it's been home away from home for guests like President William McKinley, jazz legends Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Duke Ellington, and baseball king, Babe Ruth. In 2008, the hotel underwent an $18-million renovation that ultimately resulted in the luxurious 4-star beauty we see today. From the inside out, this hotel is chic, modern, and warm - yet it still maintains a classic New England, distinctly Bostonian feel.

As you enter the lobby, minibar is to the left, and the hotel restaurant, Xhale, is to the right. Everything looks mod, even the carpets... very cool ambiance from the moment you step inside. As you enter through the dark wood double doors into minibar, you're greeted by fun jack-shaped ceiling lights, black-and-white paintings, plush black couches, and lots of polished white fixtures. (Again, very mod and cool.) The floor-to-ceiling windows open up in the summer-time, and that outdoor space turns into a patio area.

The bar itself is an L-shaped bar, able to seat 10, and the setup actually reminds me quite a bit of Mooo . . . though the lighting isn't quite as dim. Perfect for enjoying a nice cocktail. Of note is the lychee martini ($11) - Belvedere and lychee puree, served with a lychee fruit on a spear. The perfect amount of sweet, with a hint of what tasted like grapefruit, probably from the puree (the puree comes with the lychee juice/syrup in which the fruit is stored). Also awesome is the Ox-Tail ($12) - Oxley gin, St. Germain, rosemary, lemon, and grapefruit... delightfully refreshing, served on the rocks, with a lime wedge garnish. Yum.

Amazing hotel bar... a little small, but definitely full of style. I can't wait to come back!

What used to be $2 Kobe Beef Sliders weekdays between 5 and 6 are now just Beef sliders, but they are the only reason I keen going back!

Boston does not have many outdoor spaces I like to lounge and watch with drink and cheap eats, but these $2 sliders hit the spot and MiniBar has a posh atmosphere to it.

For the second year in a row my friends and I went  to Mini Bar to celebrate my birthday, I had reserved a table and the manager Alison was so accommodating when we arrived ! she even sent over a complementary round of shots for our group, 7 of us ............ We had some food the mini burgers and fries and bacon and goat cheese flat bread was soooo tasty !
The music is great and so is the atmosphere, I would recommend Mini bar for a great night out with friends. There is also a good diverse mix of people not too old or too young. Then Alison was able to get us into the Club next door so we skipped the line and danced the night away in Story land previously Saint !
Thanks again Alison for a great night !

The bar is small but has a good crowd and ambiance. We managed to squeeze through the crowd, get seats at the bar, and set up camp.

    Memorable:

The Lychee Martini: Deliciously strong. Comes with a fat juicy lychee on the bottom. I saw this woman sit at the bar and steal a bunch of them...I can't blame her I guess. A little expensive at $11, but totally worth it.

Mini-Burgers: Oh my god. Juicy meat with super sharp cheddar and spicy aioli. I've NEVER had that good of a burger anywhere, let alone at a bar. Well, maybe it was the lychee martini. But $14 for 3 pieces of rapturous heaven is a pretty good deal.

Overall, this is a good place if you're in the mood to get your swank on, but don't feel like waiting in line for any of the lounges nearby.

We came here for drinks and appetizers here after work the other night, and for atmosphere. It's really lovely in there. And, that's what Minibar is good for -- atmosphere, hence the three stars, because everything else was subpar.

The wine pours here are typical, nothing less than what I'd expect from a Boston bar. They fill it to four ounces and that's it, but I know what to expect walking in. So that was fine.

The food was chintzy to say the least. We ordered the sliders and goat cheese-bacon flatbread for appetizers. The sliders were extremely rare, and I like rare but these were practically still mooing in the pasture. Hello salmonella!

The aioli that was supposed to come with them was nonexistent, when I lifted the bun there was barely a drip of it. Um... can you spare it? That's one of my biggest pet peeves, skimping on the sauce. The flatbread was overly salty and nothing special.

i'd come back here for drinks and the atmosphere for sure. But I'd have to have copious amounts of alcohol coursing through my veins in order to get food here again.

    Good flatbreads - check.
    Good fries - double check.
Nice wine list and fun cocktail - definitely!

Great place.. comfy chairs and fun to sit by the window and watch the street traffic.  A very nice pre dinner cocktail and appetizers.  Will be back.. hopefully soon.

Drinks are decent though a bit pricey but it IS Back Bay.

Service was absolutely ATROCIOUS. In the course of an hour, the waitress came over 8 times asking us if we wanted another drink when we hadn't even finished our first. I didn't know I was still in college and had to pound drinks like there's no tomorrow.

Talk about being rushed. I couldn't even make it to the end of a sentence before being interrupted again by the waitress.

It is my GO-2 place. Why?... Well why not?? Imagine you are stepping into a friend's chic loft and then you will understand my reasoning. It is a close intimate place which offers great opportunities to mingle and be socialble. People will accidently or purposely walk into your bubble..but that is okay..its called MINI-bar. The crowd is late twenties and thirties with a few out liers (40s).

Drinks were great because service was fast. People will have every excuse to spark a  conversation with you because they are that down to earth coupled with a great relaxing atmosphere.

    Badababa..

Loves the atmosphere (suprisingly chill, considering its one of those fru fru hotel bars) . Loves the decor (very modern and insanely chic). LOOOOVVEESS the $2 sliders (juicy, medium rare and topped with swiss cheese)

I have a new chill spot!

My only complaint is the riduculously slow service. But if thats something your willing to overlook for the price of the delectible sliders, then you would love it here as well.

Oh, and if have intentions of ordering anything besides the bar special, make sure to bring ur piggy bank along with you, this place aint cheap!

I give Mini Bar a solid 3.  I came here with a group of 8 people for happy hour after work on a Thursday.  It was a nice night, so most of the people were sitting outside, but there were a few occupied tables inside as well.  I hope they have more business on a friday or saturday - for their sake.  Our waitress was adorable and incredibly friendly.  She had great drink suggestions and came by just often enough.  I had a delicious lychee martini, and several other women all tried various cocktails and wines.  At least one woman is our party walked out with a new favorite wine based on her suggestion.  It wasn't very loud inside and I was able to hear everyone talking.

You do have to actually exit the bar and go into the hotel lobby to use the restroom, which is kind of a pain.  The cocktails range from $10 - $12 and they do add a 20% gratuity to the bill for large parties, but most places do that nowadays.  Our waitress was very up front with telling us that so we knew not to add more.

Hard to find a decent place to go to on a Monday night, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that this place was fairly packed. Pretty posh lounge, and it's decent if you're just trying to go out to have a few drinks with your friends after a rough Monday. No real dance floor, but they have a DJ spinning a variety of music and they have comfy lounge seats/sofas for you to chill out on. The drinks are overpriced ($11 for a redbull vodka) considering it's also watered down with tons of ice. The crowd is meh... there's lots of young professionals there but there's also a bunch of older cougars and cradle robbers littered around the place. People kind of seemed to stick to themselves and their group, and it may just be a Boston thing but I'd prefer a crowd that was more into networking and socializing with others.

I guess this place will have to suffice for a Monday night.

    I looooooooooove this place!

The atmosphere is all chic, trendy, lounge-y, sink-yourself-in-comfy-sofas delightfulness with dim lighting that's perfect for romance/intimacy but not so dark you can't read the menu. The servers are fun and attentive and the cocktail list (most important thing of all) is great.

I had the lychee martini and boy do they pack in the flavor and alky-hol. A few sips in and I was already feeling the buzz. They garnish it with an actual de-seeded lychee on toothpick so you know you're getting your fiber and Vitamin As too. The Ox-Tail was also delicious and cocktail portions for both were ample.

My friend Dorise G. got the calamari and it was quite good. Lightly battered but not too battered with a delicious sauce--I was pleasantly surprised by how much better it was than what I've had at actual restaurants.

On a Friday night, our party of 6-odd people (with more coming in later) were able to find comfortable seating first at one part of the lounge, then at another right by the window (as our party expanded). They have a lovely sidewalk/patio seating area too, but it was raining that night, so we didn't venture out. The clientele were all young, hip and gorgeous yet didn't have that douchey/bitchy vibe--even when they're obviously checking you out. ;)

Bonus: You can actually hear each other speak and not just the person next to you but the one seated diagonally across from you on the other end of the couch too! Even as the evening progresses and the music gets louder, it never gets so loud you can't carry on a conversation.

And for tequila and brandy lovers, Minibar has a pretty good selection of both according to my friend who is quite the expert. He seemed very happy with his shot of tequila and raved about the brandy he picked. Soooo....yeah.

If your looking for a swanky lounge thats trying to be far more posh that it actually is, Minibar is your place. It's expensive, the crowd is what you would normally expect from a hotel lounge, and while the drinks are delicious, the service pretty much kills the mood.
I ordered the ox-tail made with gin, St. Germain, rosemary, grapefruit, and lemon. It was refreshing, but the grapefruit was a little overpowering. Minibar is a fine place to drop in and have a drink with a friend after a day of shopping or hard days work, but it's nothing to write home about.

I'm not a huge fan of lounges but this place isn't too bad. Totally what you could expect from a fancy hotel bar... expensive, pretentious, white lights to make it look super posh.
A very redeeming quality is the $2 kobe beef mini burgers weekdays til 7pm. Really good, but other than that there isnt really anything on the menu.
If you're ballin', or staying there... for a drink or two, sure. Otherwise you're not missing that much.

Minibar is one of a few places that I love despite the crappy service. Seriously they have some of the worst waitresses I have ever encountered. They aren't particularly rude just inept, inefficient, and clearly uninterested in doing their jobs. I have been here multiple times I can honestly say I've never gotten excellent service. I am willing to give them leeway on weekends as the place is packed, but seriously it once took my friends and I over half an hour to get our check.  I usually go there on Thursdays when the place is damn near empty and the service is only slightly better.

One dark haired waitress in particular also seems to be delusional as she thinks she's entitled to anywhere from 50 to 100 percent tip. Once the group I was with all paid on credit cards and I paid cash she didn't bring my change, I gave her benefit of the doubt and thought maybe she assumed I was tipping for the whole table. The second time I was there with one friend, who after arriving about 20mintues after me ended up going to the bar to order her drinks when the waitress wasn't in sight. My bill was 22 dollars and change, I handed the girl a fifty and she seriously was surprised when I asked for my change back. Out of the goodness of my heart I still gave her a 15 percent tip.

One of the best things about Minibar is the ambiance, it is well designed, luxurious, and gorgeous, from the bar to the comfy and beautiful coaches to the patio. The cocktail list is varied and interesting. The drinks are made strong and not like the water down crap that you get at other places. The Kobe beef burgers are amazing and the single greatest thing about Minibar. I can't even adequately describe how good they are. They are hands down the best sliders I have ever had . When they are cooked well the fries are spectacular, there have been times when they have been loaded with too much Parmesan for my liking.

Anyways my recommendations, definitely go enjoy the food and drinks. Endure the waitress who will be happy to serve you when they aren't talking to the bartender or randomly disappearing for large amounts of time. Also if you pay cash keep an eye out for your change. Props to anyone who read the novel I wrote for this review!

Not gonna lie, kinda thought by around age 35, couples would stop eating each others' faces like starving rottweilers in public. Maybe give it 5 more years.

Aside from the vomit-inducing visual assault (picture curly greasy haired man with hair slicked back making out aggressively with a trashy looking girl) I was graciously offered, this place is alright.

I caught up with a friend here for a drink on a Thursday night, and the bar was pretty empty. Surprising, given the location. You'd think streams of happy hour-hungry workers would be milling about.

Me: "Which would you recommend? The lychee martini or this drink?"
Bartender: "Do you know what lychee is?"
    Me: "um, yes. I'm Asian."
    Bartender: "oh, ok."

The bartenders were nice and the drinks were ok--I ordered a lychee martini (b/c YES, i know what a lychee is). Although, I didn't really get to enjoy it, seeing as how some man who had bathed himself in the strongest cologne ever made decided to plop down next to us. I think I almost suffocated.

Next to Saint, which is home to many a' Jersey Shore cast member look-alikes, Minibar earns a "ok, but forgettable" place in my book.

I've been going to Mini Bar for a couple years now with Morgan P. who commented below, but I have finally had just enough of their ridiculously poor service. I'm not sure if it was the GM or the Assistant but he is a total prick and talked down to us at the door. His bouncer friend would not let my friend in with her THREE ID's. Not only that, they tried to push my other friends and I in to buy drinks and leave my other friend hanging at the door. SO you are trying to scam us for drinks and convince us to ditch our friend?! He said it was because her passport was from Nigeria and she had a NY state id? Excuse me??

You're drinks aren't GOOD, your waitresses are bitchy, your crowd is typically sub-par and the food/music here typically sucks. The bartenders here are the type that get mad when you ask for anything not on their cocktail list. I used to go here for convenience, you're two blocks away from my Comm Ave apt, but I would rather go to MET,  Charlesmark, or City Bar anyday over you! You have lost my customer loyalty.

SO YES, the free freshly baked cookies are nice, but it doesn't make up for your crumby Thursday-Saturday weekend disgruntled employee circus. NO THANK YOU!

Why? Why do you do what you do, Minibar?

Your over-priced pizza is bland. You charge a minimum of $10 for it, and it's no better than Upper Crust, just smaller.

Your cocktails are not $10-$12 worthy. I can pay the same amount or less at Eastern Standard for a cocktail and get one of much higher quality. Your "Pear Sidecar" does not taste like pear.

So tell me, why should I come back?

Went here last night since the line to get into Saint was ridiculous.

No cover? Great. We got in right away, also a major plus for the evening.

I liked the atmosphere- nice decor, ambiance would probably normally be great but it was so crowded I couldn't really catch it- but the music they played was just my style. Our cocktail waitress was fantastic! We (4 of us) made our way through the crowds of people to somewhat near the bar, and were kinda awkwardly standing in a line of traffic trying to figure out how exactly we'd manage to order drinks when a cute girl stops by us and says "Do you guys need drinks?" which was a nice surprise, and we quickly ordered them and she brought them to us in record time and was so sweet! So, A+ service, at least from her.

Drinks were pretty standard prices- we got 4 mixed drinks for $40.

Only thing I didn't like was how crowded it was where it was nearly impossible to move, we didn't have anywhere to put our coats or to sit- so I suppose my best advice would be to get here early (we made it in by around 11:45 pm).

Also, the crowds of people in there reminded me of some of the bars at my old university that I made a point to avoid- but perhaps that was just on that particular night.

I'd definitely like to come back to see what their food is like, what it's like when it's not so crowded and we have a chance to sit down and relax. But, all in all it wasn't bad at all.

Def was one of the youngest people there. Not that I'm complaining, but when the average age appears to be 45 or so, then it doesn't promise that great of a time.

Thank god I went with some really fun people and ended up having a good time regardless. Needless to say, it helps knowing people there. We ended up getting a table and the staff was really good to us. I will say however, that the drinks are fairly expensive and so are the bottles. They have 'mini' bottles which cost about 1/3 of the price, so you can get a table and get one of those instead of spending an extravagant amount on a bottle.

The place looks nice and is a nice cozy place. I haven't had the food so I can't say much about that. Other than that, it's a good place to go with a few friends, but i don't frequent there enough to love it or be a fan of the place.

Went to this bar for the $2 mini Kobe burgers from 5-7pm.  The hostess (who also ended up being our waitress) was extremely rude. She didn't offer us a table even though the place was empty and when we asked to sit outside, she told us we had to order food and proceeded to sit us inside. We moved outside. She waited 20 minutes to bring us our menu.

I ordered 2 $2 burgers,  parmesan fries ($6) and the Elderflower martini ($10)- it was all delicious! If the service hadn't been so awful, I probably would have given this place another star.

The seating was sort of awkward. I wanted more of an intimate meal but one of us had to sit on the table/seat which didn't have a back and was uncomfortable.

Then, at the end of the meal, the waitress rung up our bill wrong. I had ordered the side of fries and 2 mini burgers...she charged me for the entire burger meal ($12). The manager eventually cleared it up (after some snooty comments from the waitress) and gave us $5 off our order.

Anyways, I definitely wouldn't wait in line for this place and I won't be going back anytime soon.

Went there Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised... not a Mandarin Oriental hoity-toity place, but really refined and yummy bar food.  I was expecting nachos and got a kobe hot dog.  Way to step it up a notch!

Great food, good wine, and patio seating (that does not have heat lamps yet).  FYI: you must order food if you're on the patio.  Yet another Boston law that you can't just sit outside and have a drink.  However, the windows and doors all open, so it's not that big of a deal.  Nice big screen TVs at the bar to watch sports/poker.

I would start here before going out, on, say, a party bus?

Minibar is one of those incredibly trendy places that I kind of feel out of place in:  it has couches, little tables, and other amenities that make a hotel bar a hip place to be.  They also have those miniburgers all the kids talk about (and occasionally have them at reduced prices during happy hour-type times).

Drinks are about the same as they are elsewhere in these trendy places: $5ish for a beer, more for other stuff, though not insanely extreme.  Also, they have a decent TV setup, with TVs facing all the areas of the bar for those people who want to watch the Sox or C's or B's or Pats.

If I get a chance to come back here, I may reassess, but overall it's a chill place that wasn't too bad.

Mini Bar = Boston's best kept secret.

If you're looking for delicious cocktails and appetizers, check out Mini Bar.  My favorite drink is the Bonaparte Bellini.  However, their talented bartenders have created some delicious cocktails for me on the spot!  If you're hungry, the margarita pizza and sliders are to DIE for!!!  And trust me, I am quite the cocktail and mini burger connoisseur!

On my last visit to Mini Bar, a friend said to me, "OMG when you said you wanted to go to Mini Bar, I thought you were talking about one of the bars downstairs at Saint!"  A week later, she was asking ME to meet her and friends there before a night out!

Great place for dates or catching up with old friends "Sex and the City" style.........And if you're in the mood to party, this is the perfect place to grab a few drinks (or mini bottles of wine or liquor) before heading downstairs to Saint!

Writing this review has me craving some apps and martinis!!!  I'll def be there tonight before a night out!!!

    In one word - blech.

My friend and I stopped by late on a Saturday afternoon for a pre-dinner cocktail since we were in the neighborhood. Both of us are fans of martini concoctions and the like, so Mini Bar fit the bill. For an off time, there were quite a few people at the bar (it looked like some sort of bar crawl group), so it took us awhile to flag down the one harried bartender - first to get a drink list and then to place our order. The decor was very sleek - lots of white and very modern, and the areas with the couches looked like they would be fun and comfortable for a large group.

I ordered a lemonade cocktail and my friend had the Napoleon Bellini (I'm blanking a bit on the names). We each took a sip of our cocktails and had matching looks of horror on our faces - they were sour, bitter, and just plain gross. We even switched drinks to see if maybe it was a question of ordering the wrong drinks (it wasn't). Since these were $10+ drinks, we managed to choke down most of them while trying to figure out a comparison to what they did taste like - my friend had the winner with "fruity triaminic cough syrup." We finally left our wounded soldiers in order to find another bar where we could wash the taste of these drinks out of our mouths.

I liked the atmosphere and could see it being a fun weekend spot, but I don't think I could bear another one of those drinks, so I won't be returning.

The Mini Bar, what a cute name to coincide with this cute boutique lounge.

Went here after work with my friends  to relieve some stress

Place was a bit busy but as soon as we sat down and had our first cocktail, ppl started coming in.
I had the Mandarin Negroni.  I didnt really know what I was excepting. You think it was a fruity drink but boy its bitter! It had the after taste of when you accidently spray perfume in your mouth.  This was cause by the camprini or whatever it was called.

My friends had the bellini and they said the same thing. it tasted like perfume.

    Then we switched to wine.

They have a great happy hour deal Mon- Thurs with $2 Kobe sliders.  make sure to get the fries too, they are delicious! the aioli dipping sauce is awesome!

Service here is impeccable.  With the afterwork crowds coming in, we never had to wait long to get our drinks refreshed.  The GM here is a catch and the other servers are cute too.

Overall, this place is a great afterwork spot.
But it gets realy loud as sound bounces like crazy here. You can hear almost all conversations.

I went to Boston to visit a dear friend, and I had a fabulous time grabbing a drink at Mini Bar because of her company and because the place provided a bemusing scene. The crowd was about 80% douchey male and falling-down drunk (it was around midnight). There were also a lot of older dudes; enough to inspire my friend and I to begin a simple drinking game based on the number of grey-haired males we could spot... Not that we're ageist or anything.

There was a couple waiting outside when we arrived; the bouncer let them in when we got there and had us take their places on the sidewalk. What a transparent attempt to make the bar look cool enough to wait to get into... fortunately other people came along shortly, so we were let in and they got to take their turn waiting pointlessly.

The bar itself is fine - your standard sleek lounge with interesting lighting. We were lucky to get a couple of seats at the end of the bar, and it was a perfect perch for people-watching/mocking. The white leather chairs at the bar are very comfortable. It was here that I realized I've finally become accustomed to steep NYC drink prices, as I thought our not-that-bargainy tab was quite a steal... sigh!

I was really surprised to see such a high review of Minibar on here. Maybe we just hit it on a really off night. The lone plusses were the nice modern decor and the friendly service. After that, everything was average to below average.

The crowd was made up of the predictable wanna-be trendy crowd which means slightly older than college aged guys and girls, trying just a little too hard and coming up just a little too short. Not my scene really, and the girls (friends of mine and my girlfriend's) that I was with, were hit on by lots of those trying too hard guys, who...well, all came up a little short. Maybe next time guys!

The space, as I mentioned, was nice and modern. It was well decorated, and the seats we had near the bar were nice and comfortable, and gave us a nice view of the line outside.

Right, the line. I am sure they have a capacity dictated by the fire code, but being inside and noticing how empty the place was, made me feel a bit badly for the people that they were making wait in line Not saying it was unjustified, it just seemed that way. On a side note, I'd never wait in line to go to Minibar. Just sayin.

Last complaint, was no coat check. Now I know not every bar in the city has a coat check, but with a small, upscale bar, connected to a hotel lobby (The Copley Square Hotel), I'd expect there to be a coat check option. The lack of such an option, resulted in nearly everyone there trying to smoosh giant winter coats into small spaces in corners, holding them awkwardly, or bartering with other tables to let them hang the coats on stranger's chairs.

Oh, and one more thing. And this isn't just a Minibar thing, this is one of my biggest current pet peeves when it comes to bars. If you are trying to run a dark, trendy, sophisticated, upscale bar, lose the flat panel tv's over the bar. Aside from totally counteracting your lighting efforts, they come across as totally incongruous with the rest of the atmosphere. If I wanted to watch the Bruins post-game show on NESN, I'd go to one of the billion sports bars a stone's throw away. I'll never understand why every Boston bar feels the need to have these tv's....

Definitely a good place - good atmosphere and decoration.
It also doesn't give off a pretentious vibe like a lot of the hotel bars in the area.

I came here and enjoyed a few drinks with friends, had a good time.

I have had a lot of great times here even though they just opened a short while back.  The scene is always really great, the location couldn't be more convenient, and the food and drinks are both spot on.

I think what I first liked was decor. They have swanky couches that are really comfortable and these movable stools that double as chairs and a place to put your drinks. The floor is made of a cool hemp/bamboo material and I'm really into the black and white wall hangings. Its just the right mix of comfy and cool.

The place is great for an after work cocktail or a late-night scene. I've brought a couple large groups in and we've had great service both times. The crowd was really classy and I've met some interesting people.

My favorite drink by far is the ginger smash - gin, muddled cranberries - very yummy -  like nothing I've had before so well done. Our server recommended the St.Germain cocktail the first time I went which is also really refreshing.

The food is surprisingly good. They have a small menu of which at first I wasn't sure about, but by now I've tried almost everything and its been amazing. My fave are the mini kobe burgers. They put something on the fries that make them really delcious - like McDonalds but better.

In response to Hannah's reviews  - if you go before 10ish they play lounge and then switch to the more pop/electronic stuff for late night. I have been for happy hour on several occasions and this has remained true. I hear what you're saying and can appreciate it as I also love thievery and gotan, but honestly, post 10pm I have had my fill of the same music they play in every other lounge and am ready for some ting tings! ;p

I would definitely check this place out before word gets too far and the line stretches around the block.

Intimate but not delicate, dark but not overdone, trendy but not uncomfortable, MiniBar is a swanky little spot for any indulgence you may dream up for a hot minute.   The piattini-style menu is worth your trip alone (and so many thanks to the staff and the kitchen for putting together a mini-Kobe burger plate and Kobe hot dog plate for my friends and me when the kitchen should have already closed.  You really don't find that kind of service just anywhere and it speaks volumes of the establishment in general - kudos.)    But you would be missing out if you did not take a moment to sit on one of the comfortable couches and enjoy a cocktail or three.     A lychee martini may be all you need to take an ordinary day and make it dazzling.

I am looking most forward to bringing many friends to MiniBar for what seems to be a guaranteed amazing evening no matter what the occasion.

miniBar is definitely a modern and trendy place. But honestly, we go out for food, liquor and service and it has all three.

I had the cubano which came with freshly made plantain chips and my friend had the kobe beef mini burgers. Both were very good. But, the fries, which are coated, aren't that good. I would ask for them to be substituted with plantain chips which are my favorite.

The bartender was really cool and nice and willing to have the kitchen make me something off the menu.

Haha. This is so ridiculous. I prance into Mini Bar, excited that I "just read about this place on Yelp". In fact, I was sent the review through my email earlier in the day. As soon as I say this, I turn around and who is there enjoying a cocktail but Lo-an! WTF?! Yelpers are everywhere! Love it!

I really like the vibe of Mini Bar. There aren't many intimate lounges like it in Boston. They have an impressive menu of wine and beers, along with a variety of hard alcohals, mixers, sodas, and garnishes so you can "craft" your own cocktail. While I didn't eat, they have an appealing looking menu, including Rosemary and Parmesean Fries- YUM!

The bartender and general manager were awesome and played fantastic music- in fact, they are even going to make me a copy of some of the music they were playing that was mixed by their DJ downstairs at Saint.

Great place for a night out with the girls, or even before going out on Boylston. Looking forward to going back!
