Came here on a first date, its a good place for that! The band was great, bar staff was attentive, restrooms where clean and plenty of seating, pool tables and darts.

I love this place but out of all the times being here, this is the first time ever in all the years i attended, that i was over charged by 10+ dollars for drinks i did not order. When it is a packed house, it is best to not run a tab.. This may be a simple error of the bartender since bartenders at this establishment is a revolving door, but it was not addressed, credited.. So, i left no tip. It was not the waitresses issue, the bartender's error.
Hopefully this wont happen again, but if it does.. The 4 star will be a 2 star.
I suggest if you are in for a night of pals and drinks,, secretly write down or list it on your phone what you order.. then when you get the receipt, see if you have been ripped off.

Close to my work and always has great drink specials. Monday has $2 you-call-its on even premium liquor. Wednesday has $2.50 1.5 pint beer specials (depending on the beer), and everyday has generally nice happy hour prices. Wednesday-Friday also has free buffet. Not that tasty but since they don't serve food here, it's definitely a nice after-work perk.

This is by favorite Baker street! They have a classic English pub in the back down a very inconspicuous corridor. My friends and I stumbled upon it by chance and loved it. They have the same green wingbacks as the other baker streets but they actually have their own place away from the main bar. I think it makes it much more relaxing than the other Baker streets, and my favorite bar in the area by far.

I came here for about 3 nights during my stay in Houston and this place is rockin! Super cool staff, lots of dancing space and a great liquor selection. The bar has 4 levels that are king of staggered.

This is one of those crappy pseudo Irish/American pub chains. A couple of bars and tables scattered about. Plenty of TVs and loud music. Dirty and grimy, in the "we don't care" kind of way. Not the awesome dive bar kind of way. Some pool tables and other various pub entertainment.

The selection is really bad. The only thing I found good was Sam Adams and Fat Tire. If you are lucky, you might find Saint Arnold (but that is few and far between). Other than that the typical Irish/English macros from Guinness, Bass, and Newcastle. Along with all the other BMC swill. The service is clueless and rude at times.  I would rather go to any number of places over Sherlock's. The service is bad, it is always loud, and it is always crowded. Even if I was with a group of friends, I would recommend almost anything else.

Fun place to meet up with friends.  Great live music and a whole section for pool.  But be careful, the place is crawling with cops.

Lots of weird folks here thats for sure.  This is a place that if you come with a group and there happens to be a good cover band then you can enjoy a good time here.

I have come here off and on for about 10 years now and I admit there is really nothing unique about them.  They're just a cookie cutter bar with a suburban feel and generic and loud cover bands playing the same 5 songs they all play.  Still, there is something comforting about just going out to a place with a good selection of beer, decent prices, and just hanging out away from the hipsters in the "cool" part of town.

So while not cutting edge, Sherlocks is a nice place to just go hang out without over-thinking things.

Met a friend last night for a late happy hour, which theirs ends at 9:00. We waited at the bar for 5 minutes before the bartender came around and asked for our order. Good, it was still 7 minutes before 9:00! However, the drinks come to us at regular price -- which is almost twice as much as happy hour price. We ask why, and the bartender said "Our computer says its past 9." Hmm. I look at my watch and phone, and ask a couple of people at the bar at what time they have. We're all in agreement -- 8:55. "Sorry, I can't override the computer," says the bartender.

This is what separates them from a bar with the customer in mind. Sherlock's has seen much better days. It's still holding on to it's 1990's heydays, and it's showing it's age.

Put it this way, came here after a wine tasting next door and I'm still paying for it today. Their Monday night $2 wells and you-call-its did their job very well!

It is a lot bigger than it looks, that's for sure. Walking in you have the option to go right and hit up the bar, or left and hit up the pool tables and what not. We opted for the bar...obviously. There was plenty of room for everyone in our group (granted it was a Monday). There was every type of person imaginable. Business men in suits, girls in slut dresses, the elderly and of course, our college-crazy asses.

Now the bartender was a little weird in my opinion but the waitresses were wonderful. I only saw two so I have no idea how they kept up with everyone's drink orders around the entire bar. We attempted to just order over the counted, but since we had a tab open through the waitress we had to put our orders in through her.

This particular Sherlock's isn't a "grill" so there isn't any food but you can order from Chilis To-Go and they'll bring it right over! We called in our order, told them we were in the "darts area" and 20 minutes later we had delicious southwestern egg rolls, chicken strips, and spinach dip.

There was a live band playing cover songs from like Hinder and later in the night when the band stopped, they started playing more dance-y type music. We tried our hand at darts--badly, but it was still fun. $10 cover though until you return the darts.

Now, if you go up the stairs around the bar, there is behold! Another bar and more seating. Definitely wasn't very much going on in that room but it was where the closest restrooms were without trekking across to the other side of Sherlock's. Small, only two stalls, but clean. I'm not sure how two stalls keep up with weekend business though.

Everyone was having a good time and enjoying themselves, which of course makes for good vibes all around. A group next to us was even nice enough to buy a round of shots for everyone!

Sherlock's in the Willowbrook area is where I spent my 21st birthday and this location doesn't fail. Probably my favorite "pub chain" to date.

This place doesn't serve food, so you're relegated to the food stand outside.  So just eat beforehand in the area or grad a late night snack afterwards.

The place is big, so you have plenty of chance to scope out the scene, as well as dancing to the live music/cover bands.

Protip: don't leave you glasses on the counter at the left of the stage. The bass shakes the wooden counter so much that the glasses fall off!  That happened countless times, as every time I witness the look of sadness on people's faces as they cry for their spilt beer.

Otherwise, there's foosball, air hockey, and two pool tables on one side.  You can play cricket and golden tee on the other.

A solid place, especially since there is no smoking throughout Houston (yes, I've been coming here a while).  Before, smoke would just permeate the carpet, and you would practically die with the low ceilings and no fans.

Final thoughts, the crowd is diverse since you're not on Washington or Midtown.  All ages and all races, so that's another bonus of this place.

Probably my favorite no-risk bar. When I say "no-risk" I mean that no matter what night of the week I have been, I've always had a good time. If friends come in from out of town and want to grab some drinks and just have a down to earth good time catching up, or get hit on, this is my spot. The bartenders are capable, efficient, and polite, the fajitas on the porch are great at 1 or 2 am when you're headed out, and they always book pretty enjoyable bands. Usually cover bands but always pleasant nonetheless.

They do card, and there is generally a ton of cops with a breathalyzer truck nearby in the same shopping center, so don't try anything stupid, it ruins the good fun for everyone.

I always get hit on when I go to this bar, if I want to. I don't mean it in a creepy way, I mean, if I'm looking to flirt I can easily find attractive enough males to get a few drinks bought and exchange numbers. If I go with a group or one individual I can remain un-poached however and enjoy the company I came with. If that's what I want to do.

Also the location is good for getting a group together as half my friends live in west Houston/Katy and the other half are heights and Montrose dwelling, but it's still not too far for them to want to drive.

I've never had a bad time here, or been with anyone who was having a bad time.

Yes folks, welcome to a People Watching Paradise....
Since it had been a couple of years, I decided it was time to take the new date to Sherlocks and start the evening off pub-style....
Wow, what a crazy festival of weirdness, and the perfect ice breaker for a date!
Upon arrival, I did a survey of the scene: the place has 3 bars, Bar 1 bottom level, 2 was main level, and 3 was a top/upper level. Bar 1 was dingy but fine with pool tables; great for kids that just hit the drinking age or just casual pool-playing folks. Bar 2 had the stage in combination with a lot of seating and some darts; the dinge level was still rather high to me, so we headed to Bar 3... a bit nicer, less dingy, but certainly nothing fancy.
I felt like Goldilocks and the 3 Bears, except in my case it was Goldilocks and the 3 Bars.... and Bar 3 was just right... ok not "just right" but right "enough" for a drink, or two. It was still early for a Saturday night, around 9pm, so we pretty much had the bar to ourselves. The bartender was great and fixed us up generously!!!! which really deserves an extra star. So add a star that is just for heavy pouring and LIQUOR.
After an hour, the weirdness began... different clusters of random people began flowing in, and each cluster was more "ecclectic" than the other. I can't describe it really, it was just sort of fascinating to see such a wide variety of bizarre people all congregating under one roof. It felt like the we were in a bar wasteland, and all these clusters were leftovers from old clubs that were shut-down decades ago. Yes, that is the kind of "weird" I am referring to... but awesome to watch. Just as we were trying NOT to look at the elderly couple mug down on a gross, old loveseat, a man with a poof of hair that looked like a "lucky troll" or the lead singer from Flock of Seagulls strolled up beside me. He was wearing a lacy, pirate shirt, velveteen coat, and khaki pants... khaki????? not even close to the Edwardian/Pirate theme he had going from the waste, up, but maybe he spilled beer or blood on his leather pirate pants.
Anyhow, the puffy haired man comes to me and asked me if this bar was a "magic bar" because it was upstairs.... wow. Really people, I must look like someone who cares or invites this craziness, but I'm not. So this guy just asked me if we were in a Magic Bar, so I decided the appropriate response would be YES. Yes, sir, this is a magic bar and you are invisible so you have to ask the bartender the secret word in order to be served.... and he did. The bartender and I had another few laughs at this poor dude's expense, but it was all in good fun and really, he was asking for it.
Turns out he was with a larger group of pirate-looking folk, all from the 80's, and they were later joined by some drag queens. Yes, we got to see Pirate Mania and Ru Paul & Co all in one bar. I guess that is some sort of victory..? hmmm
Summary: Itypically, this place is not really my "thing" but it was a great evening that provided much entertainment of the Freak Posse kind, and for the people watching and entertainment, and abiltiy to make really strong drinks, it's worthy of a couple of stars.

Sherlocks is always consistently good whether you just come up by yourself, with a few people, or in larger groups.

There are three different bar areas. Bar A upstairs is the most quiet of the three. Bar B where the main stage and dancefloor is in the middle. this is the largest bar of the three and usually the most busy and loud. Bar C is next to all the games (billiards, foozball, etc.).

Prices are very competitive. Weekday drink specials are great. Jorge, Josh and John are awesome bartenders and make good conversation.

So once again Sherlock's next door to that terrible wine bar Vintropolis gets my business b/c they stay open while Vintropolis closes early even though their website says differently.

2 dollar Jameson, Dewars and many other liquors on a Monday (or was it Tuesday) night.

My bank account was still sufferring from Christmas and New years, so when my girlfriends was to grab some cheap drinks, I suggested Sherlocks.  I had not been here for at least 5 years, but decided anywhere that had $2 drinks till 9 couldn't be so bad.  This place is no muss, no fuss.  Very simple, with pool tables, and some punching bad concoction game, and decent music.  The bartender was friendly, and my bill game to $11.24.   I had NO complaints.

Never really liked this place, but came the other night when a friend was visiting from out of town. Kinda just ended up here. If you wanna be in a spot with a loud live band, and kick it with the Westheimer crowd then this is the place to be.

It's the same bar it's already been for years. Minus a star for the old dude behind the bar for messing up an easy drink order. Nothing major but he charged a tab to the wrong persons credit card (friend of mine) right after I gave him clear instructions. I'd been drinking all night, what was his excuse?

Quite honestly, the first time I stepped foot in Sherlock's Baker Street Pub, I thought it was pretty nice. It was a Tuesday night and drinks were cheap. I took a look around and liked what I saw. There is a small stage for performances, some air hockey, pool, darts, a nice patio and a back lounge room with leather seats that feel like they were made from butter. I think I may have enjoyed it because it was weekday and there weren't that many people. But even for a week day the place seemed pretty busy and there were several patrons that stayed to close down the bar.

The past couple of visits I've made didn't leave quite the same impression. Friday nights the placed is packed with little breathing room.

I frequented once on a Friday and wore uncomfortable high heels fully expecting to find a nice seat at a table on the patio. I ended up standing my entire visit while trying to ignore the fact that the live band was playing an awful rendition of Lady Gaga's Poker Face (I abhor Lady Gaga).  A drunk woman dropped her drink and alcohol and glass shattered and splashed all over my feet.

The bathrooms aren't nearly as big as they should be (two stalls aren't good enough for hundreds of ladies). People do get crazy drunk here. When I was trying to use the ladies room, a couple of cougars pulled a man in against his will and made him very uncomfortable. I was very uncomfortable too because dammit, I had to pee and there was a man in the ladies room.

I went again on a Sunday night and some drama went down in the parking lot while security looked on and did nothing. All and all, I'd say Sherlock's is not a bad place to go and drink on a weekday. You won't be drinking alone. Oh, and single ladies beware. Douchebags are like vultures here and will try and pick you up.

    Happy Drinking!

Ah, Sherlock's. Where frat boys go to relive the glory days.

Sherlock's hype precedes it. It's the "it" place, and if you are too cool for school, you spend your weekends here. You and the other 15,000 people in Houston that feel the need to be another cow in the herd. Trying to get a seat after 9:00 on a weekend is like trying to nail jello to a tree. It ain't easy. And there's just a couple of tables pushed together, so if you're heading out there with more than four people, forget it.

If you didn't have fun trying to grab a table, best of luck trying to get a drink. I'm not the type to holler at the bartender and get served out of turn, but apparently I'm a dying breed at a place like this. Even once you do get frustrated enough to start flagging down the guy, He more than likely will not listen to you. The best they do is just a nod that they'll get to you when they feel like it. What's the point?

The only thing this place has going for it are some mediocre bands that pass through. I've seen worse, but I've definitely seen better.

So I tend to like bars that are somewhat crowed but you can still find a seat with cover bands... and that's just what this place is.  The drinks are cheap, so that's good... and there is no cover, good as well.  So then why is this not a 3 star establishment?

I don't appreciate rude bar tenders or music that is way too loud that I have to yell over it.  Would I go back?  Maybe... it is cheap and pretty close to where I live.  Sugar Land location is much better though...

I came here once for my best friend's coworker's birthday. I had no idea what to expect....

the night i was there the crowd was trashy. I feel a bit bad about using words like that to describe people, but I saw more T and A than if i was at the strip club. We're talking upskirt views and boobs falling out of people's tops, I kid you not. If i wanted to see thong, I woulda paid for it down the street. seriously.

Also there was this cover band playing, and while they were better technically than most cover bands in sportsbars, their song selection consisted of music that made me want to stab myself in the eye (read: nickelback). Needless to day, since I was trapped for this birthday party, i had several drinks to dull the pain.

I should mention that it was PACKED, and alot of people seemed to be having alot of fun, and I know for a fact I simply prefer a different scene.

Some pros are that the bartender was extremely friendly,(i think tried to be nice bc he could see that I wanted to run screaming from this place and never look back) and there's several different rooms and patios, lots of room to mingle, and i think 3 different bars.

I've been to Sherlock's many times. I had drinks here with a couple of friends on Friday and I thought our waitress was bad. The waitress in our area kept making the rounds to check her tables in our area, which included our table, but kept skipping us. My friends and I only got 1 beer from her and the rest from the bar. I'm not too lazy to go to the bar, but since our waitress was working our area, I wanted her to make the money. I was sitting on empty a few times just waiting for her to come by, but it didn't happen too often.

    Shiner Boch: $4.25
    Corona: $3.75
Service: 2/5 - My beers were on emtpy too many times just waiting for a refill.
    Ambience: 4/5

I've been to this Sherlock's only two times in my twenty-? years of awesomeness: Saint Paddy's Day (which was a real cluster F) and upon a friend's request. But you know, it's really not that bad of a bar.

Clientele is more diverse than you think: Dynamo fans hosting a post-game celebration, fratty (ahem, ex frat bois), Gs, a few rednecks, cougs ... oh, and me.

On this past trip to Sherlock's, we encountered the band Rat Ranch. Covering songs from Blink 182 and Three Doors Down, it was a trip down memory lane with TRL. It was also taco night (Wednesday) with a cook out on the patio.

If it weren't for my inebriated girlfriend who decided to moon the crowd from the parking lot (garnering cheers and applause), I'd probably go back.

Pretty nice bar for the most part, there's almost always a good crowd and music. there's pool tables, Foosball, darts and a stage for live bands and karaoke. Since my cousin lives near by we usually come here for drinks... the only thing I hate about this place is one of the bartenders is bi-polar or has attitude problem. Here' s quick overview of what happened.

When I ask the bartender if he knew how to make a shot ("piece of ass" soco-amaretto-sweet n sour) he said yes with attitude, my friend asked me what's in it I was telling her (keep in mind I was looking at her and speaking to her directly) He yelled at me that he knew what's in it. I promptly told him I was talking to her not him.

This isn't a isolated incident; this particular bartender is just a complete ass-wipe. Over-all the staff is great but I believe your only as good as your weakest link.

I've been coming here since before the days of hard living ravaged my youthfulness.  Being new to drinking at bars, I actually liked the place a lot.  It has an unbeatable happy hour overall, darts/pool/air-hockey, and an nice big patio.

It has everything that a dude like me likes in a bar.  Whats my problem you say?  Well, honestly its the clientele.  This location is right smack in the energy corridor of H-town, a place where business goes down you might say.  A bunch of middle age oil exec's and business men go to basically get drunk and cheat on there wives.

Honestly, I could care less, but the people doing it are so unsightly.  They basically get wasted, act like an asshole with a lot of money, and pick up the 2 fat desperate chicks at the bar. Every time I go, I can't help but notice, its like clockwork.  I could time my watch to it.

Anyways, happy hour is cool...just don't stay too long or else you might see things you can't unsee.

Ya know.. This place isn't too bad. I went on St. Patty's day for their annual shindig and it was crazy packed. They were well organized though, and the $5 cover wasn't too bad. They blocked off a good portion of the parking lot and had a stage set up, pot o potties, and a good variety of (rock) bands perform.

The wait for a mixed drink, which were only served inside, was a bit long, but that's to be expected. This place attracts a lot of attractive females, which is a HUGE plus in my book. I can't imagine going anywhere else in Houston on St. Patty's day, and will do it again next year.

I've been here on normal nights and on St. Patty's day.  On normal nights this place is very chilled place to grab a drink and play darts or pool.  You can even dance in the middle area inside.  Usually this is full of cougars though.  But they get an extra star for their St. Patty's day bonanza.  They block off the whole lot and have live bands and lots of food.  This is by far one of the best St. Patty's day celebrations because they have a Huge parking lot to block off.  I went to BON's this past year and they try to pull off the same thing but their lot is just way too small.  I know now to come here instead of BON's for St. Patty's.

Only been here a couple of times. On both times it was exremely packed which I guess can be good and bad. One time we had one drink and left the other we stayed till closing. It's pretty big as it has multiple levels and lots of seating but it seems to get packed quick leaving the late arrivers standing the whole night stalking out a place to sit. Seems to be easy to mingle with people here, I was able to snag a couple of number so that's a plus that the crowd is laid back and chill. Like any other bar the live band was loud but I didn't mind this one because they were playing bad ass 80's music. The drinks weren't expensive at all and they were pretty strong which was cool with me cuz i like to catch a quick buzz (im kinda shy and with a lil liquid courage I loosen up). The crowd is diverse, there is a smoking patio outside and when it's time to leave they have people outside making food at a little stand. Wasn't able to see what exactly they had though. So the only drawback to this place was it gets packed but other than that it's a good place to drink with friends and meet people. Check it out. Peace!

Oh yeah they also have a couple of pool tables and random arcade games if that's your thing.

First time I came here I was dragged by friends saying how cool it was.   We had just been at a local pizza place and I had a cup of iced tea with me, that the bouncer made me toss in the trash.   I told him it's just iced tea but he said yeah but too many people trying to sneak drinks in.   So fair enough.

While this is multi-sectioned with the dance floor in the middle section we wanted to be able to hear each other so sat at the bar over to the right.   Got good service and drink prices were reasonable.    Smoking was still allowed at the time and we were glad as we were smoking cigars.

I've heard rumors that this is a good place to catch a hook up and can confirm that I saw one go down.   The group I was with had this crazy guy tagging along that I think was already two sheets in the wind before we even arrived.   Well, to make a long story short this dude seemed to like challenges and one of his buddies in our group, dared him to start sucking on the girls hair that was sitting in the booth right behind us.   There were two girls directly behind him and I and before anyone could say a thing the dude had her hair in his mouth.

And as you might expect her friend saw what he was doing, jumped up and yelled, "Hey that guy is sucking on your hair!!!!"     And it got real quiet in there with everyone in the place looking over at us.    And I will never forget that girl turning around, looking right at me and screaming "Dude, what in the fuck?!"    To which I quickly answered, "No, not me, HIM!".     Sweet Jesus....

While everything returned to normal I decided to go check out the dance floor and did find some quite attractive bodies gettin' it on.   There seemed to be a good mixture of people, basically just as mentioned before, all races mostly ages 21-30 yet a notable representation of middle aged and even a few older couples enjoying wine and cigars.

While I did leave before the rest of the group I arrived with, I heard a few days later that the crazy hair sucking dude actually took that girl back to his apartment and started dating her.   So go figure.   Forget the fancy pickup lines, just start sucking on her hair.   :)

I'm not wild about Sherlock's. I had a friend who liked to come here, so I had been dragged to the place many times because said friend was pretty much a regular and an alcoholic.

It's big and they have live cover bands sometimes. The live music is so loud that it's hard to even hear yourself think. I can really only remember drinking beer and, every now and then, some kind of huge shot.

This Sherlock's is like a neighborhood bar (I guess) but a commercial one? Hard to explain. I guess it's not bad if you just want to have a beer and don't mind that you can't hear anything your friends are saying.

    Meh.

If you wanted crowded, worn, tattered and a tad stinky but staffed with some nice folks, this is really a good place for you. There are bars that are a bit of a dive because they are aged and well-broken in; then there are bars that are a bit of a dive because they were cheaply done and ill-maintained. The latter is this Sherlocks.

The first couple times you go in, the multiple levels seem cool. Then after you've fallen over several steps, had people bang into you and generally get irritated at how miserable it is to navigate, all the levels and layout wear thin and it isn't so cool.

While TV blares and a trivia game goes on, conversation echoes from level to level and you realize that generally conversation is fairly useless.

Patron age and type vary all over the map. You can have a setup of giggling sorority girls next to 5 oil field workers.

They have an Irish name, and vaguely purport to project an Irish image, but I'm not sure why they bother. A green t-shirt with a shamrock image and Guinness on tap doesn't make you Irish.

The free happy hour buffet is hardly worth doing. There is a big bowl of potato chips, a tray of cruddite, and a couple steam trays where occasionally a dispirited kitchen worker will pile some lukewarm soggy mini-egg rolls  that I recognize are the same ones I get by the pallet at Costco. If you're lucky you may time it so that you are present when a small tray of chicken wings (that I swear were already pre-eaten, they're basically sauce and bone) are dumped out and pounced on by potato-chip cauliflower-weary patrons.

The saving grace is a wide assortment of tap and bottled beer, good happy hour prices and they seem to know how to serve it (for example, Blue Moon wheat beer with an orange slice).

I like this place!!! I would much rather spend an evening at this establishment than some uber-stuck up club with high price drinks, cover charge and pretentious women. Sure there is the usual riff-raff that comes with the pub crowd. Drones of lecherous old men attempting to dance with young women but I like the cover band and the waitresses are attractive and the beer and drinks kept flowing all night long and the fact that there are a higher class drunk women is a real plus. I'll be back like next weekend!!!!

It was a historic night my only time here, as Houston ordinance on banning smoking extended in the bars affecting this one right as clock hit midnight.  After much whining and groans, many smokers took their act outside but emphasized how inconvenient this was.  Either way, this move bumps my rating up an extra star as it was uber smoky when I first entered the place but was significantly better when I left.

The crowded bar is full of twenty and thirty somethings, all looking to socialize and hook up with plenty of eye candy from both sexes all around.  People were chatting with each other in every corner, from the rowdy pub area to the relaxing (formally cigar smoking) nice chair lounge section.  The drinks were amazingly cheap, at least for someone who is used to $10 cocktails, when I only paid $3.50 for my cranberry vodka.  Service was extremely cordial and the cocktail waitresses seemed very cute.

Parking is not a problem as its a public lot lumped into the rest of the mall businesses nearby.  The bouncers were very flexible with no attitude and the place was actually fairly mixed (i.e. diverse) with people from all walks of life.  I can attest to this place being a friendly spot to catch drinks, meet new folks, and enjoy a smoke free environment.
